MISTER TIBBS vs CHAMPION ERIC JAMES
A classic feud with Tibbs and James that started in 2010 would be revisited as these two absolutely took each other to the limit. In what could be a “Match of the Year” contender, these two left nothing on the table before the champion retained.
WINNER: ERIC JAMES
VICTORY PRO WRESTLING TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
THE EVEN STEVENS (Steve Somerset & Stephen Azure)
vs CHAMPIONS THE ABSOLUTE BRAND (Alvin Alvarez & Giant Andre w/ Silk E Smooth)
The Even Stevens redeemed themselves after a loss at Homecoming in July, giving the champions something to work with, but outside interference and a miscue from Silk E Smooth, the Vest in the World became the Best in VPW.
WINNER: AND NEW VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS.. THE EVEN STEVENS
After the match… Giant Andre called out Silk E Smooth for once again causing them a win, and demanded Alvin Alvarez to make a decision – Silk E Smooth or Giant Andre. After some consideration, Alvarez fired Silk E Smooth and celebrated with Andre as they now focus on regaining the tag team championships… without Smooth.
TAG TEAM MATCH
THE WOLVES OF ODIN
vs JACK TOMLINSON & BROTHER GREATNESS
Before the match, Kaide announced that Beau Sullivan was out collecting dues from lowlifes and Percy Ryan was hurt so now he was going to bring in a man Kaide felt better represented his vision… Dante Drago
The match itself featured the undersized Brother Greatness stepping up to Kaide and Dante, but the star of the match was Jack Tomlinson as he was able to lead his team to victory.
WINNERS: JACK TOMLINSON AND BROTHER GREATNESS
After the match… Kaide applauded Jack for his efforts, leaving the Vestler a little confused.
THE SPIRITUAL SUBMITTER INDIGO vs LA CHICA CLARA CARRERAS
Indigo and Carreras, both making their VPW debut, sparked some life in the women’s division with a match that could be the foundation of a classic feud. In tribute to the late Eddie Guererro, Carreras finished off Indigo with a frog splash.
WINNER: CLARA CARRERAS
THE MAIN EVENT – VICTORY PRO WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP
JOHNNY “PRETTY BOY” COLLINS
vs VICTORY PRO WRESTLING CHAMPION COACH MAMMONE
After being paraded around the ring on the shoulders of the Even Stevens, Collins refused to let the ring announcer introduce him. The challenger went to the crowd to find a fan to introduce Collins.
Once the match started, it was all Coach Mammone. The champion took it to Collins but the challenger was able to keep up with him. Collins was frustrated by his opponent’s never die attitude and was caught off guard when Mammone locked him in a Sharpshooter.
The bell rang, and Mammone unlocked the hold, but Collins did not submit. Senior official Steven Dumeng noticed Stephen Azure at the timekeeper’s table and admonished him for his actions as Steve Somerset snuck into the ring and knocked out the champion with a chain.
A groggy Collins slowly crawled on top of Mammone while Dumeng rushed back to the ring to make the count.
WINNER AND NEW VICTORY PRO WRESTLING CHAMPION: Johnny “Pretty Boy” Collins
After the match… Mammone while not surprised was disappointed. He wanted a championship rematch at December’s “Devastation” show, to which Collins said… no.
The former champion said he’d do anything. He’d put his career on the line if he had to so he could get one more shot at the title. Collins said that would be the only way he’d get a title shot, and Mammone agreed. VPW owner John E Radioo asked Coach if he understood what that meant before making it official.
Now the stage is set, but at what cost? Will Coach Mammone regain the championship or will Johnny Collins eliminate the former champion forever?
What will happen when Victory Pro Wrestling returns to St James December 18th for Devastation?
