Reyes on VPW title match against Champ Katana: “When did he beat me for my belt? Never.”

Upcoming Events VPW News

Ricky Reyes after winning the VPW Championship December 2014Former VPW Champion Ricky Reyes still believes he is champion, despite no longer being recognized as such.

Injuries come and go in professional wrestling. Sometimes when champions get injured, they relinquish their titles.  At VPW’s “Blood Sweat and 9 Years” anniversary show. Kai Katana soared his way to VPW’s top prize, but current champion Ricky Reyes was nowhere to be seen due to an alleged injury.

In his place: ConfluxXx partner Jay Delta.  This variation of what has been recognized in various promotions around the world as the “Freebird Rule” was presented to Delta in March as an option to try and keep the championship in ConfluxXx.

Speaking with Reyes in his Hollywood, CA, estate, VictoryProWrestling.com was able to ask the challenger his thoughts about his upcoming match against VPW Champion Kai Katana.

“I’ll show all those losers on Long Island why I’m a star in Hollywood, why I’m on TV, and why they will never be like me.”

“First of all, I want you to tell all your little web monkey nerds and internet geeks that I am still the VPW Champion,” said Reyes.

When asked about VPW Commissioner EJ Risk’s call, Reyes continued, “That dweeb EJ Risk was jealous of my good looks and my wrestling ability when he was in ConfluxXx.  I took all the ladies, the spotlights, and rightfully so.”

“The fact that he decided to steal MY championship from me,” he sighed, “it’s just typical of him.  He couldn’t beat me, his women were always uglier and fatter than mine, so I don’t blame him for being mad.”

“That he stole my title? I’ll get that back, ” Reyes declared, “and then I’ll show all those losers on Long Island why I’m a star in Hollywood, why I’m on TV, and why they will never be like me.”

Regaining focus, Reyes addressed Kai Katana.  “Who did Katana beat?  Who was in that match?  Did you say Ricky Reyes?  No?  Exactly.  Shut up.”

“Asians are stupid,” Reyes said.  “He couldn’t see me anyway, so he probably thought I was in that match anyway.  Kai Katana is stupid for thinking he’s the champion, and at Upper Limits Jne 6 in Centereach, I’m going to teach him that Ricky Reyes is the standard of excellence in Victory Pro Wrestling, and I’m bringing MY belt back home to ConfluxXx where it belongs.”

Will Ricky Reyes take back the title he feels is rightfully his, or will Kai Katana successfully defend the gold?  We’ll find out in June!
