The show was to be headlined with Jack Tomlinson’s first title defense as new Victory Pro Wrestling champion against Dan Barry.

To kick off the show, VPW announcer Sam L ’Eterna welcomed the fans and thanked them for coming out. Sam L ‘Eterna introduced the new Victory Pro Wrestling Champion, Jack Tomlinson to the VPW faithful.

Tomlinson made his way out to the ring and the crowd was firmly behind him. Tomlinson told the fans that the best part about him winning the Victory Pro Wrestling Championship was that it meant the fans won the Victory Pro Wrestling Championship as well.

Mike Anthony interrupted Jack Tomlinson and wasted no time in getting his point across. Anthony tells Tomlinson he is tired of Jack ducking him. In Anthony’s mind, he won the King of New York and is angry Dan Barry was given a Victory Pro Wrestling Championship match over him.

Dan Barry was next to make his way out to the ring. Barry says that he is a 17-time champion, and one more would be coming his way. Anthony attacks Tomlinson from behind with a chair taking out his leg. Anthony trapped Tomlinson’s leg in a chair and unloaded on it with a chair of his own.

Dan Barry would come down to make the save. VPW referees and the medical team came to assist, and senior official Steven Dumeng would then tell Barry that Tomlinson can’t compete tonight. This made Dan Barry angry, but he had a new goal in mind. Barry challenged Mike Anthony to a no disqualification match in the main event, which was made official.

PERCY RYAN vs. PHIL CARDIGAN

The match starts with some good, back-and-forth wrestling by both men. Percy Ryan would quickly take out Phil Cardigan with a big move of his own to gain control in the early part of this match. Cardigan would fight back into the match and make his way to the top rope.

Unfortunate for Cardigan, he would get distracted by Francis Kip Stevens and Filipinot Grigio both screaming “YES!” and “NO!” at him. This would allow Percy Ryan to gain the upper hand again. Cardigan would try to fight back, but to no avail. Ryan does a good job at targeting Cardigan’s leg and stopping any offense Cardigan would try to muster.

Finally, Cardigan was able to knock Ryan out with a kick of his own. This would give Cardigan the opening he needed to drink his coffee. Cardigan fired up and took the fight right back to Percy. Cardigan hits a big move on Ryan and pins him for a very close 2-count.

Cardigan would once again get inadvertently distracted by Francis Kip Stevens and Filipinot Grigio. This time, Ryan would be able to capitalize and hit his finishing move on Cardigan for the three-count.

WINNER: PERCY RYAN

After the match, Francis Kip Stevens and Filipinot Grigio help Cardigan out of the ring and to the back.

Sam L ‘Eterna introduces Johnny Collins and Steve Somerset. Collins says that last month they were screwed by VPW management and are visibly angry.

Collins reiterates that they are better than everyone in the VPW locker room and that they are tired of being screwed by VPW management. Somerset gets on the mic and says that Stephen Azure is so mad he didn’t want to show up tonight.

Ryan Galeone would be introduced as an honorary Pretty Likeable member. Bam Sullivan, Mouse, and Kenny Garcia would make their way down to the ring and a six-man tag team match was announced.

Ryan Galeone starts the match out against Bam Sullivan. Johnny Collins would quickly tag in and go toe-to-toe with Bam Sullivan. Sullivan sent Collins flying twice and quickly took the fight to him. Mouse and Somerset would tag in for their respective teams and Mouse continued his team’s momentum, taking the fight right to Somerset.

Galeone would make the save and take out Mouse while he wasn’t the legal man. This wouldn’t be the only time this would happen in the match. Collins would tag in and continued to beat down Mouse. Mouse would try to fight back but to no avail as Galeone would help keep his team in firm control of the match any chance he could.

Collins would make his way to the top rope and attempt a high-risk move. Fortunately for Mouse, he had enough of his whereabouts to move out of the way. Mouse tagged in Kenny Garcia, while Collins tagged in Somerset. Kenny Garcia came in hot and took out both Somerset and Collins.

Galeone would attempt to make the save, but Kenny Garcia would send him over the top rope and crashing down to the floor. Mouse and Sullivan beat up Somerset and just when it looked like they had the match one, Galeone hit an insane high-risk, flip taking all three members of the other team out.

Ryan Galeone and Johnny Collins hit a chokeslam on Mouse and Collins pins him for the win.

WINNERS: PRETTY LIKEABLE

WINNER: MEGAN MASON

VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDERS MATCH: DR. COOL AND PAT FITZPATRICK VS FILIPINOT GRIGIO AND FRANCIS KIP STEVENS

Francis Kip Stevens and Dr. Cool would start the match for their respective teams. Dr. Cool quickly takes down Kip, but because of his taunting and playing to the crowd, Kip would gain the upper hand. Kip pins Dr. Cool but only gets a two-count.

Kip tags in his partner, and Grigio continues the offensive on both Dr. Cool and Pat Fitzpatrick. Filipinot Grigio would gain the upper hand and use some of his tactics to help him do just that. Grigio tags back in Kip but Kip gets taken out by both Dr. Cool and Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick controlled a good portion of the match. Fitzpatrick tags in Dr. Cool and Dr. Cool continues on the offensive not letting up on Kip. Kip fights back into the match, taking the fight to Dr. Cool. Fitzpatrick saves Dr. Cool, causing Kip to run shoulder first into the ring post.

After more beating up on Kip, he is finally able to fight back into the match and make the big tag on Filipinot Grigio. Grigio makes his way into the match and takes out both members of the other team. However, they don’t stay down for long.

Dr. Cool and Pat Fitzpatrick are able to hit a double-team move on Grigio for a two-count. They call for the magic killer on Grigio, but he counters. Thanks to a distraction, Fitzpatrick is able to roll up Grigio for the three-count in what was a very competitive match.

Alvarez hits a big spinebuster on Drago and pins him. However, the pin gets broken up by Cain. Drago throws Cain over the top rope and onto the floor. Alvarez locks in a sharpshooter on Drago, and Drago tries to fight out of it.

Denaro does an excellent job and targeting Cole’s arm. Denaro is able to remain in control using his submission offense as he fends off any offense Cole would try to muster up. Cole attempts a pin roll-up for just a two-count.

After taunting for too long, Dominick Denaro gets knocked down by Dezmond Cole. Cole takes the fight back to Denaro and is able to regain control of the match. Cole hits punch, after punch, on Denaro, but Denaro is still able to get some good offense in. Denaro hit a big kick followed by his big move on Cole for just a two-count.

Gangone makes his way to the top rope, but Alvarez counters Gangone’s high-risk move. Alvarez is able to lock in a submission move of his own and make Gangone tap to win the match.

WINNER: “ABSOLUTE” ALVIN ALVAREZ

After the match, Kaide Lothbrok jumps Alvarez from behind. Kaide starts taking out VPW officials as well. VPW Commissioner Kevin Fulton comes down and gets into the face of Kaide. Fulton tells Kaide to leave, or he will be suspended indefinitely. Kaide attacks Fulton, but Alvarez gets back up and throws Kaide out of the ring.

Commissioner Fulton then announces that on June 11th at Under Pressure, we will see Kaide take on “Absolute” Alvin Alvarez. Kaide gets thrown out but makes his way back and hits Alvarez with a stunner before leaving under his own power.

NEW YORK STATE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
CHAMPION DEZMOND COLE vs FILIPINOT GRIGIO

Filipinot Grigio makes his way out to the ring first. He is followed by the New York State Champion, Dezmond Cole. The match starts off with Grigio taking his time and not wanting to fight Cole right away. However, the two finally lock-up and we see some good chain wrestling.

Moses is finally able to frisk Somerset and he pulls out a knife from Somerset’s boot. Moses quickly tags in his partner, Malcom Murray. Steve Somerset makes the tag out as well, tagging in Steven Azure. Murray takes out Azure with headbutts. He then makes the tag and Moses is the legal man again.

While Moses isn’t paying attention, Somerset handcuffs Murray to the ring post. Even Stevens are able to hit their finisher on Moses to retain their VPW Tag-Team Championships.

WINNER: AND STILL VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, THE EVEN STEVENS

The match starts off with Collins hiding behind the ropes when Tomlinson comes after him. Tomlinson quickly takes the fight to Collins. Collins is able to hit a shoulder block on Tomlinson, but Tomlinson quickly gets back up and gets back into the match. Collins goes to the outside, but Tomlinson follows and hits him with a kick, and a flip over the top rope onto Collins.

Tomlinson attempts a Subscriber Stomp, but Collins rolls out of the ring. Tomlinson follows him to the outside, but thanks to a distraction, Collins gains control of the match. Collins goes to hit Tomlinson on the outside, but ends up smacking the ring post, allowing Tomlinson to regain control of the match.

However, thanks to another distraction by the Even Stevens, Tomlinson’s momentum doesn’t last long. Collins is in control of the match again and takes the fight to Tomlinson. Tomlinson tried to fight back, but to no avail. Collins locks in a submission hold onto Tomlinson, but Tomlinson is able to get out of it.

WINNER: DA BIG BOOFA DEZMOND COLE

KING OF NEW YORK QUALIFIER MATCH
“INFAMOUS” ADAM CAIN vs “THE GOATEST OF ALL TIME” BOBBY ORLANDO

  • The match started off with both men going back and forth. Bobby used the top rope to spring board up, down, up, and then down again before taking advantage of his opponent.
  • With the action outside the ring, Bobby started to work on Cain until the Infamous one took over. From there he showed a darker side we haven’t really seen from him before.
  • With the action back in the ring, the dirty tactics continued for Cain, which was bad news for Orlando.
  • Bobby was able to mount a comeback and regain control before heading to the top rope with a dabbing elbow to almost end the match, but Cain kicked out at 2-and-a-half.
  • Cain had Orlando in a nefarious position in the corner for a superplex setup but Bobby slipped out, then connected with a Death Valley Driver for the win.

WINNER: BOBBY ORLANDO

After the match, Brother Greatness came out to support his friend Adam Cain, who shoved him off and warned him to get out of his way.

PRETTY LIKEABLE ADDRESSES THE CROWD
The VPW Champion Johnny Collins and the VPW Tag Team Champions The Even Stevens, collectively known as Pretty Likeable came to the ring to address the fans. Collins started off by talking about his accomplishments, retiring Coach Mammone. He then directed the attention to the tag team champions.

Steve Somerset took the microphone and noted they were not going to be in action, even talking about how Stephen Azure just had Lasik surgery recently. Francis Kip Stevens and Phillip Cardigan came to the ring and challenged the champions to a match.

The Assistant to the Commissioner of Victory Pro Wrestling James Sullivan came out and made the match official, putting the titles on the line, and banned Johnny Collins from ringside.

VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
VPW Tag Team Champions The Even Stevens vs The Coffee Lovers

  • Referee Steven Dumeng admonished Collins and directed him to the locker room area before the match started. Once the bell rang, Somerset challenged Cardigan to take his glasses off so it would be a fair fight between Cardigan and Azure, except he.. just had.. Lasik surgery?
  • Once the hijinks were over, the match went back and forth. Kip and Cardigan had some fun early on until the champions finally took over.
  • The Coffee Lovers started to come back but the experience of the champions lead the Even Stevens to victory.

WINNERS: THE EVEN STEVENS

THE DOCTOR’S OFFICE W/ DR COOL JAY KLANG
Dr Cool’s guests were Silk E Smooth and The Giant Andre, who came to the ring wearing “We Broke Alvin’s Heart” t-shirts. Smooth then explained that while the Even Stevens attacked Andre, it was Smooth that took care of Andre. Meanwhile, Alvin Alvarez was too busy trying to be a hero instead of checking on his best friend.

Alvin Alvarez then came to the ring to call BS on the excuse, even then saying that since Alvin and Andre were in the ring together, they may as well go at it right there and then.

Silk and Andre then left, and Dr Cool taunted Alvin. Alvin beat him down before heading to the back.

KING OF NEW YORK QUALIFYING MATCH
BROTHER GREATNESS vs ….

Before the match, VPW Commissioner Kevin Fulton, along with the Assistant to the VPW Commissioner James Sullivan, came to the ring to address the issue at hand, and that was Brother Greatness’ original opponent Bryce Donovan suffering an injury that required surgery, therefore he was unable to be cleared to compete.

In his place, Commissioner Fulton found a suitable replacement, a former King of New York finalist, a former contender to the VPW Tag Team Championship, and a former contender to the VPW New York State Championship……

…the Assistant to the VPW Commissioner James Sullivan.

  • Still dressed in his button down shirt, Sullivan was cheered on by Commissioner Fulton. Sullivan went for a merry-go-round suplex but Greatness was able to counter. After a top rope bulldog, Brother Greatness advances into the King of New York tournament

WINNER: BROTHER GREATNESS

With the win, Brother Greatness joins Bobby Orlando, Mike Anthony and Phillip Cardigan in next month’s King of New York tournament to be held at the anniversary show.

NEW YORK STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
KARLO VICE vs NEW YORK STATE CHAMPION ERIC JAMES

Before the match started, Eric gave a shout out to Bryce Donovan to get well soon. As referee Nick Shin was about to get the match under way, Jarrett Diaz – who made appearances on AEW Dark – came to the ring. He noted that if he wanted to make an impact in VPW that getting a match with Eric James would be the way to do so. The champion asked the fans, and the fans agreed, so now it’s a triple threat.

KARLO VICE vs JARRETT DIAZ vs ERIC JAMES

  • The match started off hot with Eric James controlling the action and showing why he has been the longest reigning New York State Champion.
  • Karlo Vice took control and started a beatdown on the champion after James attempted a Code Red on Diaz. Vice and Diaz then started to work on James, but had a hard time working together.
  • Despite not having a lot of singles success, Vice was able to show that he could compete at the championship level, but the continued interaction with Diaz continued to be his downfall.
  • Diaz proved to be a tough competitor himself, proving he could also hang at the championship level, but the experience of the New York State Champion gave him the victory.

WINNER AND STILL NEW YORK STATE CHAMPION: ERIC JAMES

After the match, Karlo Vice attacked Eric James. Out to make the save was Dezmond Cole. He called for the microphone and gave it up to Eric James. Cole then talked about how how he felt after his return from injury that he wants a shot – Dezmond Cole against Eric James at the VPW Blood Sweat and 16 year anniversary show.

SINGLES MATCH
MIKE ANTHONY vs PAT FITZPATRICK

  • In a match that started brewing earlier in the night during the lumberjack match, Mike Anthony and Pat Fitzpatrick took to the ring to settle the score.
  • The back and forth action between the two spilled to the outside, where Fitzpatrick had the fans chop Mike Anthony.
  • The advantage Fitzpatrick had did not last long as Mike Anthony was able to gain control.
  • As Fitzpatrick started to regain momentum, Mike Anthony distracted the referee and hit his opponent with a low blow before connecting with a crazy DDT for the win.

WINNER: MIKE ANTHONY

The next contest started out with Kaide Lothbrok to the ring with Dante Drago and Beau Sullivan. Kaide was talking about Jack Tomlinson being a top contender, no.. a champion. But Kaide then warned Jack that one day, with an injury, the fans would betray Jack. Kaide once again offered his hand.

Instead they gave Jack a three-on-one beatdown until VSK made the save, returning the favor from the month before. VSK then called out Kaide and Dante for a tag team match.

TAG TEAM MATCH
KAIDE LOTHBROK/DANTE DRAGO (w/ Beau Sullivan) vs VSK/JACK TOMLINSON

  • This was a brutal match with a lot of animosity between both teams. VSK and Jack worked well as a tag team, but Dante showed an eagerness to impress Kaide.
  • One of the best matches of the night was almost ruined with Beau Sullivan entering the ring to knock Jack out with a set of brass knuckles. As Kaide held him up and Dante distracted the official, Beau swung.. Jack ducked.. and Kaide was knocked out.
  • Dante was taken out, then Kaide met a VSK superkick and Jack Tomlinson Spider-man Stomp before the match ended.

WINNERS: VSK AND JACK TOMLINSON

After the match, Kaide and Dante beat down Beau Sullivan and left him in the ring as a thank you for costing the Wolves the match.

VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
CLARA CARRERRAS vs VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPION VALENTINA VASQUEZ

  • The scrappy challenger Clara Carreras stepped up to the plate to challenge new champion Valentina Vasquez.
  • Valentina threw around the challenger, but Clara was able to return the favor.
  • The challenger connected with what looked like a 3-count after a Code Red. Vasquez then shoved Carreras into the corner, rolled her up for the pin, and put her foot on the ropes for leverage.

WINNER AND STILL VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPION: VALENTINA VASQUEZ

THE MAIN EVENT
VICTORY PRO WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP
MISTER TIBBS vs VPW CHAMPION JOHNNY COLLINS

  • Johnny Collins playing mind games came to the ring dressed as Coach Mammone. Mister Tibbs wasn’t having any of that.
  • The challenger was on the defense early on as Mister Tibbs took control, but Collins continued to fight back.
  • As Collins looked to be lost, Stephen Azure jumped on the apron to distract the official. Steve Somerset grabbed the championship and ran to knock Mister Tibbs out, but instead knocked out referee Steven Dumeng.
  • With no official in the ring, Pretty Likeable triple teamed Mister Tibbs, but the former 3-time champion was able to fight back. Despite the numbers against him, Tibbs kept coming out on top.
  • Commissioner Fulton called for another referee to come out. As he was counting the pinfall, both Even Stevens pulled referee John Ryan outside the ring and entered to attack Tibbs. The official then disqualified Collins.

WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION: MISTER TIBBS

Commissioner Fulton then charged the ring and announced that next month it would be Mister Tibbs and Johnny Collins, with no disqualification, at the anniversary show.
