To start the show, Coach Mammone’s music played – but out came the Influence instead. Commissioner Kevin Fulton said that Mammone was out for the night, and that at March 7’s Blood Sweat and 14 Years anniversary show, it would be Kyler Khan against Coach Mammone for the VPW Championship – and if Coach Mammone is not cleared to wrestle, then he will forfeit the championship.

He then said that tonight, it would be the Influence that would walk away with the King of New York trophy. New York State Champion Eric James intervened, stating that last month he didn’t want the help, and this month against Stockade he wanted to do it on his own. The Influence joked about it, winking in jest, but James made it clear he was serious and he wanted to do this on his own.

KING OF NEW YORK SEMI-FINALS
NEW YORK STATE CHAMPION ERIC JAMES vs STOCKADE

  • In the tournament, the championship would not be on the line. The match started off with both combatants giving it their all.
  • During the match, Stockade tried to pull the mat from ringside up. At one point, James put it back down to the delight of the fans. Later in the match, the mat was pulled back again – this time Stockade to give Eric James a piledriver, but he reversed it. He then gave Stockade a back drop onto the unprotected floor.
  • The champion was on offense, and on his way to advancing hitting not one, not two, but three top rope elbow drops but Stockade kept coming back.
  • Stockade was able to hit a spear and secure the win.

WINNER AND ADVANCING TO THE FINALS : STOCKADE

KING OF NEW YORK SEMI-FINALS
JAY DELTA (w/ Puppet Jay Delta) vs “LAID BACK” LANCE ANDERSON

  • Before the match, Anderson wanted to share a drink with Delta. Delta shoved the drink from his hand, but Anderson held on and turned it around, hitting Delta in the head to start the match.
  • Delta took control, ending the hijinks of Anderson, assaulting him in the corner.
  • Looking to finish Anderson, Delta attacked him, but Anderson dropped down, leaving Delta to spill outside the ring, busting his head on the railing.
  • Anderson pinned Puppet Jay Delta for a two count, but then the real Jay Delta came back into the ring with a discus elbow and DDT to end the match.

WINNER AND ADVANCING TO THE FINALS : JAY DELTA

ANASTASIA MORNINGSTAR/NEVAEH CHANTELLE vs ERIS SPIRAL/ENVY

  • Last month, Anastasia and Nevaeh had some issues during their match. Teaming up again, they looked to put those differences aside.
  • Eris Spiral returned to VPW for the first time since getting married.
  • Envy was a spitfire, giving her all during the match and showing the fans she was not playing games. Spiral was excited to be back and showed she was ready to compete. On the other side, Anastasia and Nevaeh played the one-up game, tagging themselves in and trash talking each other instead of focusing on their match.
  • While not exactly the greatest game plan, their one-upsmanship helped them somehow pick up the win.

WINNERS: NEVEAH CHANTELLE/ANASTASIA MORNINGSTAR

After the match, Nevaeh and Anastasia kept the trash talking going with each of them taking credit for the win.

MISTER TIBBS vs BRYCE DONOVAN vs GRAMMAR COP

  • This triple threat match started with Mister Tibbs stalling by slipping in and out of the ring before finally getting thrown into the ring by Fighter Cat. They then threw out Tibbs and went after each other.
  • The two went back and forth until Fulton got involved, letting Tibbs come back and get involved. The dominant Tibbs controlled both Donovan and Cop with kicks.
  • Grammar Cop came back into the ring on fire, lighting up both Tibbs and Donovan, focusing on the former VPW Champion, who was able to stay alive.
  • After taking out Donovan, Mister Tibbs turned to focus on Grammar Cop, who connected with a rolling DDT to steal the win.

WINNER: GRAMMAR COP

After the match, Fighter Cat came into the ring and made an announcement that stunned the VPW Faithful in attendance.

“There’s a reason why, I am not competing tonight. A year ago I was diagnosed with scoliosis and as long as it wasn’t bothering me, I was able to compete. It’s bothering me now,” he said.

“After talking with the doctor, I’ve decided that I am retiring from in-ring competition. I just wanted to say, thank you all.”

The fans applauded Fighter Cat before he continued. “I started here in VPW, I trained over the past 6 years, the trainers that gave me a chance…”

The locker room came out to the stage area, with the Absolute Brand and others coming to the ring to give him a hug and thank him.

Once he regained his composure, he continued. “There are some people who aren’t here today who helped me along the way, I appreciate them for what they’ve done. Every trainer that I’ve had, every person I’ve competed against, every person I’ve competed with, all I can say is thank you.”

Grammar Cop then said a few words of his own. “Fighter Cat, you were with me the first day I walked into training, and you’ve been with me ever since. We trained together, we competed against each other, we tagged together, we’ve won championships together, we’ve traveled together. Man, you’ve been my best ally in this business, I love you so much.”

He then acknowledged Fighter Cat’s work both in the ring and behind the scenes before Fighter Cat’s original theme played.

SIX MAN TAG TEAM ACTION
KARLO VICE/PERCIVAL THE THIRD/”DIMEPIECE” AARON ROURKE vs MIKE ANTHONY/DEZMOND COLE/LAWRENCE SPIRAL

  • At first glance, you’d think the biggest ego would belong to Karlo Vice, but Aaron Rourke looked to overshadow his partner. During the match, there would be another shift.
  • Anthony took the beating early on, but was able to fight back and keep the hope alive for his team.
  • Cole tagged in and showed his dominance until things got out of control with everyone getting a chance to hit the spotlight.
  • The beginning of the end came when Rourke did a beautiful flip into the corner to connect an elbow, but instead of Dezmond Cole, it was Percival the Third who he hit. This gave Cole the edge to pick up the win.

WINNERS: MIKE ANTHONY/LAWRENCE SPIRAL/DEZMOND COLE

After the match, Percival gave his partner a hug, understanding Rourke just made a mistake. Then, he gave Rourke a low blow before almost leaving the ring.

He returned, then attacked Rourke again. With his now former partner on the ground, Percival grabbed a couple of steel chairs from under the ring and used them to injure Rourke, who needed medical attention to head to the back.

KYLER KHAN vs BOBBY ORLANDO

  • “Look up!” The match started with Bobby Orlando looking up, then asking Kyler Khan to do the same, before smacking him. Khan decided to return the favor, telling Orlando to look up. Instead, Orlando slapped him. Frustrated, Khan complained about it. He wanted a slap in return, so as he wound up and swung, Orlando ducked and slapped him again.
  • After the hijinks, Khan was able to gain control, dominating with various submission moves wearing Orlando down.
  • Orlando came back, but made the mistake of heading up to the top rope, allowing Khan to distract Orlando with Bobby Jr. This gave him a chance to roll up Orlando near the ropes and then use them to cheat for the win.

WINNER: KYLAR KHAN

VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
PRETTY LIKEABLE (Johnny “Pretty Boy”Collins/Steve Somerset) vs THE ABSOLUTE BRAND (Alvin Alvarez/Giant Andre w/ Silk E Smooth)

  • Before the match started, Collins and Somerset attacked the champions to get an advantage.
  • There were lots of tags from Collins and Somerset, keeping Alvarez down and trying to keep Andre out. Despite a couple of legitimate tags, referee James Balash did not see them, so Andre stayed out as Collins and Somerset continued to dominate.
  • Once Andre was in, it was time for the champions to take control, but the challengers persisted. At one point, Collins tried to introduce the tag team championship belt but Silk E Smooth intervened, giving Andre and Alvarez the advantage and the eventual win.

WINNER AND STILL VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE ABSOLUTE BRAND

After the match, the challengers attacked Alvarez and Andre with low blows, then focused on Smooth before kicking him as well.

EVIE DE LA ROSA vs “FACEBREAKER” MEGAN MASON

  • Evie de la Rosa made her VPW debut in incredible fashion, controlling the Facebreaker during the early parts of the match.
  • Mason capitalized on a mistake from her opponent and eventually connected with her finish.

WINNER: MEGAN MASON

After the match, Mason said, “I seem to keep beating every girl that steps in this ring with me. But there’s one girl who has eluded me, one girl who has exactly what I want… Karen BamBam.”

She then challenged Karen BamBam for the title.

KING OF NEW YORK FINALS

During intermission, ring announcer John E Radioo announced that Jay Delta was not cleared to perform and that in his place would be Lance Anderson, Delta’s opponent.

STOCKADE vs LANCE ANDERSON

As Anderson was approaching the ring, members of the Influence attacked him. Commissioner Fulton then announced that since a member of the Influence won, a member of Influence would replace Delta and that would be Mister Tibbs.

With the announcement, Kyler Khan attacked Stockade from behind. Eric James was at ringside protesting the attack, and Mister Tibbs grabbed his New York State championship belt.

  • The bell rang, and as Tibbs stood in the ring with the belt in hand, Eric James jumped on the apron and took his belt back.
  • Stockade was able to regain his composure before connecting with a spear to pick up the win.

WINNER AND 2020 KING OF NEW YORK: STOCKADE

After the match, Stockade then speared Kyler Khan, Commissioner Fulton, and Mister Tibbs again before celebrating his victory with the fans.

Historic night at the King of New York; Two title changes; Mammone injured https://www.victoryprowrestling.com/historic-night-at-the-king-of-new-york-two-title-changes-mammone-injured/ Mon, 13 Jan 2020 09:25:10 +0000 https://victoryprowrestling.com.thedeadend.net/2012/?p=7175 The King of New York started with the Influence in the ring, talking about how they still run Victory Pro Wrestling. Commissioner Kevin Fulton announced that in the main event, it would be Kyler Khan taking on Coach Mammone. He then announced that 2019 King of New York Jay Delta and VPW New York State Champion Eric James would join Mister Tibbs representing the Influence in the King of New York tournament.

Mister Tibbs thanked Commissioner Fulton not only for giving him an opportunity but by giving him what he called a “bye” by feeding him Lance Anderson. He then called out Anderson so he can get his easy victory and go home to his wife.

KING OF NEW YORK FIRST ROUND MATCH
MISTER TIBBS W/ COMMISSIONER FULTON vs LAID BACK LANCE ANDERSON

  • Fulton couldn’t stop grinning during the match as this was an easy lay-up for Mister Tibbs
  • Tibbs verbally and physically abused Anderson, who casually stayed alive somehow.
  • Frustrated that Anderson was rolling away from him as he tried to set up a top rope double stomp, Tibbs yelled at him to stop moving. Anderson then reached up and cradled Tibbs in a small package for the win.

WINNER AND ADVANCING TO THE SEMI-FINALS: LANCE ANDERSON

The fans erupted for Anderson as Tibbs and Fulton were paralyzed in shock.

KING OF NEW YORK FIRST ROUND MATCH
JAY DELTA W/ PUPPET JAY DELTA AND COMMISSIONER FULTON vs NOTORIOUS DEZMOND COLE

  • Determined to not let the same thing happen again, Fulton came out with Delta and Puppet Jay Delta to face Cole.
  • Cole came out of the back on fire, determined to make a name for himself against the reigning King and was able to muster up an offense that almost sent two Influence members packing
  • The wily veteran was in trouble. Puppet Jay Delta tried to prevent Cole from an attack, but instead he got punched in the face? Hand?
  • Delta used the distraction to come back and steal the win and advance.

WINNER AND ADVANCING TO THE SEMI-FINALS: JAY DELTA

WOMEN’S DIVISION TAG TEAM MATCH
ANASTASIA MORNINGSTAR & NAEVEH CHANTELLE
vs FACEBREAKER MEGAN MASON & ENVY

  • Mason and Morningstar started it off. Mason was incredibly confident, as she’s already faced Morningstar in the past.
  • The action went back and forth as newcomers Chantelle and Envy brought their A-game.
  • Miscommunication between Chantelle and Morningstar left an opening for Mason and Envy to pick up the win.

WINNERS: FACEBREAKER MEGAN MASON & ENVY

KING OF NEW YORK QUALIFIER MATCH
::KARLO VICE:: vs STOCKADE

  • The Rockstar above you against the Deathmatch Asgardian was more competitive than you would think on paper. Vice took a beating but was able to keep up with Stockade.
  • Vice was able to mount an offense after a missed legdrop on the outside of the ring left Stockade vulnerable.
  • Despite this, a Gore from Stockade sealed the victory.

WINNER AND ADVANCING TO THE SEMI-FINALS: STOCKADE

KING OF NEW YORK QUALIFIER MATCH

THE THROWBACK ERIC JAMES W/ COMMISSIONER FULTON vs RYAN GALEONE

  • Ryan Galeone only knows one speed – overdrive, and this match proved it once again.
  • This high paced match was intense and went back and forth, giving Galeone the edge.
  • After what looked to be an issue outside the ring between Galeone and Fulton, James thanked his friend but asked him to go to the back, as he was able to do this on his own.
  • Back in the ring, James did just that, as he was able to regain control of the match.
  • Galeone turned things around and the end was near for the Throwback when Commissioner Fulton sneaked back to the ring and knocked Galeone off the top rope. James saw this, was not happy with Fulton’s presence, but still went for the cover to pick up the win.

WINNER AND ADVANCING TO THE SEMI-FINALS: THE THROWBACK ERIC JAMES

TAG TEAM MATCH
THE EVEN STEVENS (Stephen Azure/Steve Somerset)
vs PERCIVAL THE THIRD AND…
Percival’s original partner was scheduled to be Bobby Orlando, but due to a non-wrestling injury that recently occurred, Orlando was not cleared to wrestle. Percival found a partner in…
THE DIME PIECE AARON ROURKE

  • Rourke debuted in VPW, teaming with Percival the Third, to take on the brothers Steve and pick up a victory, or at least that was the plan.
  • Azure and Somerset were in control of the match, showing their cohesiveness as a tag team.
  • While Rourke and Percival did fare well, they did not have the experience needed to beat the Even Stevens.

WINNERS: THE EVEN STEVENS

SINGLES MATCH
THE AMITYVILLE PROJECT DAN BARRY vs VSK

Dan Barry meets
  • Dan Barry is an accomplished wrestler, performing for other promotions in the New York area, as well as Beyond Wrestling in the Northeast.
  • VSK is one of Victory Pro Wrestling’s most decorated champions of all time, a former VPW Tag Team champion, 2 time VPW New York State champion, and 3 time VPW Champion.
  • The match was a 15 minute wrestling clinic, with an incredible back and forth challenge between the seasoned veterans.
  • VSK was able to finish off Barry with a cradle back-to-belly piledriver for the win.

WINNER: VSK

VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
THE ABSOLUTE BRAND (ALVIN ALVAREZ/THE GIANT ANDRE) W/ SILK E SMOOTH
vs CHAMPIONS THE CAT AND COP CONNECTION

Smooth celebrates the win with the Absolute Brand
  • Alvarez had vowed in 2019 that he was tired of the Absolute Brand losing and that he and Andre would dominate the tag team division.
  • The Cat and Cop Connection were outsized and outpowered in this match. They have worked against Andre before so they knew how to work around him, but Alvarez was a different puzzle altogether.
  • The champions came back strong but a miscue gave Alvarez a chance to hit a uranage on Fighter Cat, onto the back of his partner. Moments later, the reign of the Cat and Cop Connection came to an end.

WINNERS AND NEW VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE ABSOLUTE BRAND

I QUIT MATCH
JOHNNY “PRETTY BOY” COLLINS vs BRYCE DONOVAN

Donovan had one last gift for Donovan after the match
  • Collins started off with the microphone, taunting the fans until Donovan’s music hit. He then focused his attention on his former partner, telling Donovan to stop getting closer to the ring.
  • Once in the ring, Donovan finally had his chance to attack Collins. With the bell rung, the punishment began.
  • The battle took place inside the ring until Donovan knocked Collins out. Because he could not say “I Quit”, the match would continue. Tired of his mouth, Donovan would tape it shut, then beat his former partner, to a muffled “MPH MMUIT” which may or may not have been “I Quit.”
  • Donovan took the battle outside the ring, and around the Heritage room, giving fans an up close and center view of the action.
  • Once back in the ring, Collins gained control. Or he started to, until Donovan came back. With the microphone, Collins said, “I… I… I really want the Stevens to come out right no-” before being cut off. The Even Stevens stormed the ring but were taken down by Donovan, and eventually handcuffed outside the ring.
  • Donovan brought a table from the back, set it up at ringside, and was ready to throw Collins onto the table when Collins frantically said “I QUIT” almost a dozen times.

WINNER: BRYCE DONOVAN

While he did win the match, Donovan still grabbed Collins and choke slammed him through the table to the cheers of the fans.

VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
KAREN BAMBAM W/ SILK E SMOOTH vs CHAMPION ARIELA NYX

The last three seconds of Ariela’s reign as champion
  • At last year’s King of New York, Ariela picked up a win against Karen and was confident that she could do it again.
  • The two clashed in a match that would define the VPW Women’s division as both wrestlers gave it 100 percent. The power of BamBam against the power of Nyx.
  • With the challenger on the ropes, manager Smooth jumped on the apron to cause a distraction. It worked, as Nyx focused on him instead of her opponent, who finished her off and began the BamBam era.

WINNER AND NEW VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPION: KAREN BAMBAM

VICTORY PRO WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP
KYLER KHAN w/ COMMISSIONER FULTON vs CHAMPION COACH MAMMONE

Commissioner Fulton, behind the celebrating
Mammone, is about to start an assault that led to
a potentially serious injury.
  • Fulton out to make sure the Influence would be victorious accompanied Khan.
  • In his first title defense, Mammone was a house of fire. He charged right at Khan and they tore it up.
  • Despite knocking out the official and using a steel chair, Khan was unable to put the champion away. He would take his frustrations out on the now-alert official, and Mammone took advantage of that to pick up the win.

WINNER AND STILL VPW CHAMPION: COACH MAMMONE

After the match, the Influence stormed the ring and attacked Mammone. Delta, Fulton, Khan and Tibbs swarmed about the champion as Eric James was reluctant to help.

Coach Mammone tended to by the medical staff

The chair was brought back in and set up under Mammone’s arm, leaving Mister Tibbs to finish the job he started in October as he jumped from the corner onto the chair, seriously injuring Mammone’s arm.

Ryan Galeone rushed to the ring with a chair of his own, leaving the Influence to scatter as the medical crew came to the aid of the VPW Champion.

Former champion Tibbs then declared that he was coming for what was his and that Tibbs wasn’t done with Mammone. Senior official Raul Lopez admonished Tibbs, indicated that Mammone may have broken his arm.

Dr. Matthew Heller and his team assisted Mammone to the back as the fans in attendance cheered Mammone in support. The champion was then taken to a local medical facility for further care.

A double steel cage main event. One a blood feud finally boiling over, the other a clash between old school and new school.

Tonight featured drama, chaos, and changes that closed 2019 for Victory Pro Wrestling on a high note for the standing room only VFW hall in Centereach.

Kyler KHAN vs Stockade

  • The match started with Khan playing mind games, running from Stockade
  • Once the action started, it was all Stockade. The battle spilled outside the ring, to the back, and around the ring where Stockade used a fan’s shoe to beat Khan.
  • Once the action returned to the ring, Khan took over.
  • With Stockade regaining momentum, Khan took a turnbuckle pad off. With the referee fixing the pad, he grabbed a steel chair from under the ring and pretended he was hit so Stockade would get disqualified. Stockade saw through the plan so he dropped down to.
  • While Khan protested he was hit (when he wasn’t), Stockade was able to set him up for his double arm DDT for the win.

WINNER: STOCKADE

Lance Anderson vs Steve Michaels

  • Once the bell rang, Anderson seemed to be too casual, while Michaels was ready for business. Anderson ducked a clothesline while saying hi to fans, then he ducked a second one to check his boots. The third connected, and from there it was all Michaels.
  • Anderson did try to come back, but his attempts only made Michaels angrier.
  • The match mercifully ended when Michaels locked Anderson in the Chicago Bearhug for the win.

WINNER BY SUBMISSION: STEVE MICHAELS

Johnny Collins came to the ring flanked by The Even Stevens. Collins announced that he was not medically cleared to perform. He even presented a note from Dr. Steve.

::Karlo Vice:: vs Jack Tomlinson

  • The rockstar debuted against Jack Tomlinson, who started things off with a flurry.
  • Vice was able to slow things down and take control, but Tomlinson was too fast for the newcomer.

WINNER: JACK TOMLINSON

TAG TEAM ACTION
Zo Agau & The Plague (Mike Anthony/Jesse Hurst)
vs Percival the Third/Dezmond Cole/Francis Kip Stevens

  • The action started before the bell rang as Agau and The Plague attacked their opponents before they got in the ring.
  • Stevens lead the charge to take control, but his team fell to the grasps of the Plague and Agau.
  • A miscalculation gave Cole, Percival, and Stevens a chance to come back and pick up the win.

WINNERS: PERCIVAL THE THIRD/FRANCIS KIP STEVENS/DEZMOND COLE

TRIPLE THREAT MATCH NUMBER 1 CONTENDERS MATCH VPW WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP
Anastasia Morningstar vs Karen BamBam vs “Facebreaker” Megan Mason

  • Anastasia and Karen unintentionally focused on Megan to start the match.
  • Karen used her size to control the match where she could, with Anastasia able to use her power to overcome her.
  • Megan was fast and was able to take out Anastasia, but Karen was too much for her as she connected with a sidewalk slam for the win.

WINNER: KAREN BAMBAM

The Absolute Brand (Alvin Alvarez/The Giant Andre) with Silk E Smooth
vs SPITE (Johnny Clash/Liam Davis)

  • SPITE, the current CAP tag team champions, came out to try and overcome the Absolute Brand and put themselves into contention for the VPW Tag Team Championships.
  • This was the toughest challenge to date for Alvarez and Andre, as they were able to outlast and fight back throughout the match where other times would have fallen.
  • The sheer power of Andre and Alvarez’s ring experience was too much for SPITE in this contest.

WINNERS: THE ABSOLUTE BRAND

After the match, Alvarez called out the Cat and Cop Connection, wishing them luck and claiming that in January’s King of New York show, the Absolute Brand would be victorious.

VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The Influence (Eric James/Jay Delta) w/ Puppet Jay Delta
vs Champions The Cat and Cop Connection

  • The New York State championship and the King of New York would be represented in this match as Eric James and Jay Delta would team up against the VPW Tag Team Champions as they looked to add more championship glory to The Influence.
  • The experience of the Influence worked well for them as the wily veterans controlled the match.
  • A miscue by Eric James, superkicking Jay Delta instead of Fighter Cat, cost them the win.

WINNERS AND STILL VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE CAT AND COP CONNECTION

After the match… Delta and James started to argue about how the match ended, with Delta blaming James. James said it was a mistake.

Kyler KHAN came to the ring to try to difuse the situation, when Delta noticed that Khan was wearing a “Kill the Puppet” shirt. VPW Commissioner Kevin Fulton shortly followed, with James giving his partners the finger as he left for the locker room. Fulton asked Khan about the shirt, who claimed it was a nice shirt and didn’t understand the problem.

VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
Champion Ariela Nyx vs Nakoma Tala

  • Since winning the VPW Women’s championship, Ariela has successfully defended the championship against all comers, friend or foe.
  • Nakoma showed to be one of the tougher challenges to date, but still fell to Ariela’s neckbreaker.

WINNER AND STILL VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPION: ARIELA NYX

After the match… Karen BamBam came to the ring to rain on Ariela’s parade, congratulating Ariela on her win. She then focused on telling the champion to enjoy her Thanksgiving, then her Christmas, and her New Year’s, because at January 11th’s King of New York Karen BamBam would be the next VPW Women’s Champion.

STEEL CAGE DOUBLE MAIN EVENT
The Even Stevens (Steve Somerset/Stephen Azure) vs Bryce Donovan and Bobby Orlando

  • It started with a flurry of action from Orlando and Donovan, with the Even Stevens trying to take control.
  • After being dominated, the Stevens found a way top take control – by tying Bobby Orlando to the cage and taking him out of the equation. This gave them a two on one advantage against Donovan.
  • A mistake by Somerset knocked Azure down, which allowed Donovan the time to free his partner.
  • Back and forth action continued, but a double choke slam from Bryce Donovan gave his team the win.

WINNERS: BOBBY ORLANDO & BRYCE DONOVAN

STEEL CAGE MAIN EVENT
VPW CHAMPIONSHIP
Champion Mister Tibbs (w/ Jay Delta, Puppet Jay Delta, Kyler KHAN, Eric James, and Kevin Fulton) vs Coach Mammone

  • Before the match started, it was announced that by order of the ownership of Victory Pro Wrestling, Inc., that Jay Delta, Puppet Jay Delta, Kyler KHAN, and Eric James would be banned from ringside during the match.
  • It was also announced that it was one fall to a finish, meaning there would be no disqualifications.
  • Once the bell rang, it was action at 100mph. Mammone and Tibbs went back and forth to start things off and it didn’t look like it would ever slow down.
  • Mammone was able to mount an offense and looked to win with a stunner, but Tibbs kicked out. As the challenger looked to rally, he went to the top and Tibbs took over, pushing the referee into the ropes.
  • Tibbs then went after the arm of Mammone, injured at Monster Mash. The champion was ruthless in his assault, with a razor sharp focus.
  • Mammone used the cage to try to regain control, eventually busting the champion open. But the experienced Tibbs kept coming back.
  • Frustrated after another two count, Tibbs knocked out the referee. This gave him the opportunity to steal the key and give it to VPW Commissioner Kevin Fulton, who opened the cage and gave Tibbs a steel chair.
  • Tibbs used the chair to wear down Mammone’s arm some more, but when Mammone came back, Fulton entered the ring himself. The commissioner used the chair himself, but knocked himself. Mammone connected with a stunner to knock him out.
  • Tibbs tried to take advantage but he also met the Coach’s stunner, then a reverse DDT and splash.

WINNER AND NEW VICTORY PRO WRESTLING CHAMPION: COACH MAMMONE

Victory Pro Wrestling closed the year with Coach Mammone celebrating with a raucous audience, cheering long after the match ended.

What does this mean for Victory Pro Wrestling in 2020? We’ll find out when VPW returns to Centereach for The King of New York, Saturday January 11.
