LUMBERJACK MATCH
PERCY RYAN vs DEZMOND COLE

  • The lumberjacks: Adam Cain, Dr Cool Jay Klang, Francis Kip Stevens, Phillip Cardigan, Dante Drago, Brother Greatness, Mike Anthony, Patrick Fitzpatrick
  • Percy Ryan was looking for a way out of the match but was caught by Dezmond Cole. He tried to roll out of the ring but the lumberjacks kept him in the ring.
  • The action went back and forth with Cole controlling the action until Ryan distracted referee Nick Shin and kicked Cole down. He then started to work on Cole’s injured leg.
  • Cole was able to mount a comeback with a vicious powerbomb to seal the victory.

WINNER: DA BIG BOOFA DEZMOND COLE

KING OF NEW YORK QUALIFIER MATCH
“INFAMOUS” ADAM CAIN vs “THE GOATEST OF ALL TIME” BOBBY ORLANDO

  • The match started off with both men going back and forth. Bobby used the top rope to spring board up, down, up, and then down again before taking advantage of his opponent.
  • With the action outside the ring, Bobby started to work on Cain until the Infamous one took over. From there he showed a darker side we haven’t really seen from him before.
  • With the action back in the ring, the dirty tactics continued for Cain, which was bad news for Orlando.
  • Bobby was able to mount a comeback and regain control before heading to the top rope with a dabbing elbow to almost end the match, but Cain kicked out at 2-and-a-half.
  • Cain had Orlando in a nefarious position in the corner for a superplex setup but Bobby slipped out, then connected with a Death Valley Driver for the win.

WINNER: BOBBY ORLANDO

After the match, Brother Greatness came out to support his friend Adam Cain, who shoved him off and warned him to get out of his way.

PRETTY LIKEABLE ADDRESSES THE CROWD
The VPW Champion Johnny Collins and the VPW Tag Team Champions The Even Stevens, collectively known as Pretty Likeable came to the ring to address the fans. Collins started off by talking about his accomplishments, retiring Coach Mammone. He then directed the attention to the tag team champions.

Steve Somerset took the microphone and noted they were not going to be in action, even talking about how Stephen Azure just had Lasik surgery recently. Francis Kip Stevens and Phillip Cardigan came to the ring and challenged the champions to a match.

The Assistant to the Commissioner of Victory Pro Wrestling James Sullivan came out and made the match official, putting the titles on the line, and banned Johnny Collins from ringside.

VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
VPW Tag Team Champions The Even Stevens vs The Coffee Lovers

  • Referee Steven Dumeng admonished Collins and directed him to the locker room area before the match started. Once the bell rang, Somerset challenged Cardigan to take his glasses off so it would be a fair fight between Cardigan and Azure, except he.. just had.. Lasik surgery?
  • Once the hijinks were over, the match went back and forth. Kip and Cardigan had some fun early on until the champions finally took over.
  • The Coffee Lovers started to come back but the experience of the champions lead the Even Stevens to victory.

WINNERS: THE EVEN STEVENS

THE DOCTOR’S OFFICE W/ DR COOL JAY KLANG
Dr Cool’s guests were Silk E Smooth and The Giant Andre, who came to the ring wearing “We Broke Alvin’s Heart” t-shirts. Smooth then explained that while the Even Stevens attacked Andre, it was Smooth that took care of Andre. Meanwhile, Alvin Alvarez was too busy trying to be a hero instead of checking on his best friend.

Alvin Alvarez then came to the ring to call BS on the excuse, even then saying that since Alvin and Andre were in the ring together, they may as well go at it right there and then.

Silk and Andre then left, and Dr Cool taunted Alvin. Alvin beat him down before heading to the back.

KING OF NEW YORK QUALIFYING MATCH
BROTHER GREATNESS vs ….

Before the match, VPW Commissioner Kevin Fulton, along with the Assistant to the VPW Commissioner James Sullivan, came to the ring to address the issue at hand, and that was Brother Greatness’ original opponent Bryce Donovan suffering an injury that required surgery, therefore he was unable to be cleared to compete.

In his place, Commissioner Fulton found a suitable replacement, a former King of New York finalist, a former contender to the VPW Tag Team Championship, and a former contender to the VPW New York State Championship……

…the Assistant to the VPW Commissioner James Sullivan.

  • Still dressed in his button down shirt, Sullivan was cheered on by Commissioner Fulton. Sullivan went for a merry-go-round suplex but Greatness was able to counter. After a top rope bulldog, Brother Greatness advances into the King of New York tournament

WINNER: BROTHER GREATNESS

With the win, Brother Greatness joins Bobby Orlando, Mike Anthony and Phillip Cardigan in next month’s King of New York tournament to be held at the anniversary show.

NEW YORK STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
KARLO VICE vs NEW YORK STATE CHAMPION ERIC JAMES

Before the match started, Eric gave a shout out to Bryce Donovan to get well soon. As referee Nick Shin was about to get the match under way, Jarrett Diaz – who made appearances on AEW Dark – came to the ring. He noted that if he wanted to make an impact in VPW that getting a match with Eric James would be the way to do so. The champion asked the fans, and the fans agreed, so now it’s a triple threat.

KARLO VICE vs JARRETT DIAZ vs ERIC JAMES

  • The match started off hot with Eric James controlling the action and showing why he has been the longest reigning New York State Champion.
  • Karlo Vice took control and started a beatdown on the champion after James attempted a Code Red on Diaz. Vice and Diaz then started to work on James, but had a hard time working together.
  • Despite not having a lot of singles success, Vice was able to show that he could compete at the championship level, but the continued interaction with Diaz continued to be his downfall.
  • Diaz proved to be a tough competitor himself, proving he could also hang at the championship level, but the experience of the New York State Champion gave him the victory.

WINNER AND STILL NEW YORK STATE CHAMPION: ERIC JAMES

After the match, Karlo Vice attacked Eric James. Out to make the save was Dezmond Cole. He called for the microphone and gave it up to Eric James. Cole then talked about how how he felt after his return from injury that he wants a shot – Dezmond Cole against Eric James at the VPW Blood Sweat and 16 year anniversary show.

SINGLES MATCH
MIKE ANTHONY vs PAT FITZPATRICK

  • In a match that started brewing earlier in the night during the lumberjack match, Mike Anthony and Pat Fitzpatrick took to the ring to settle the score.
  • The back and forth action between the two spilled to the outside, where Fitzpatrick had the fans chop Mike Anthony.
  • The advantage Fitzpatrick had did not last long as Mike Anthony was able to gain control.
  • As Fitzpatrick started to regain momentum, Mike Anthony distracted the referee and hit his opponent with a low blow before connecting with a crazy DDT for the win.

WINNER: MIKE ANTHONY

The next contest started out with Kaide Lothbrok to the ring with Dante Drago and Beau Sullivan. Kaide was talking about Jack Tomlinson being a top contender, no.. a champion. But Kaide then warned Jack that one day, with an injury, the fans would betray Jack. Kaide once again offered his hand.

Instead they gave Jack a three-on-one beatdown until VSK made the save, returning the favor from the month before. VSK then called out Kaide and Dante for a tag team match.

TAG TEAM MATCH
KAIDE LOTHBROK/DANTE DRAGO (w/ Beau Sullivan) vs VSK/JACK TOMLINSON

  • This was a brutal match with a lot of animosity between both teams. VSK and Jack worked well as a tag team, but Dante showed an eagerness to impress Kaide.
  • One of the best matches of the night was almost ruined with Beau Sullivan entering the ring to knock Jack out with a set of brass knuckles. As Kaide held him up and Dante distracted the official, Beau swung.. Jack ducked.. and Kaide was knocked out.
  • Dante was taken out, then Kaide met a VSK superkick and Jack Tomlinson Spider-man Stomp before the match ended.

WINNERS: VSK AND JACK TOMLINSON

After the match, Kaide and Dante beat down Beau Sullivan and left him in the ring as a thank you for costing the Wolves the match.

VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
CLARA CARRERRAS vs VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPION VALENTINA VASQUEZ

  • The scrappy challenger Clara Carreras stepped up to the plate to challenge new champion Valentina Vasquez.
  • Valentina threw around the challenger, but Clara was able to return the favor.
  • The challenger connected with what looked like a 3-count after a Code Red. Vasquez then shoved Carreras into the corner, rolled her up for the pin, and put her foot on the ropes for leverage.

WINNER AND STILL VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPION: VALENTINA VASQUEZ

THE MAIN EVENT
VICTORY PRO WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP
MISTER TIBBS vs VPW CHAMPION JOHNNY COLLINS

  • Johnny Collins playing mind games came to the ring dressed as Coach Mammone. Mister Tibbs wasn’t having any of that.
  • The challenger was on the defense early on as Mister Tibbs took control, but Collins continued to fight back.
  • As Collins looked to be lost, Stephen Azure jumped on the apron to distract the official. Steve Somerset grabbed the championship and ran to knock Mister Tibbs out, but instead knocked out referee Steven Dumeng.
  • With no official in the ring, Pretty Likeable triple teamed Mister Tibbs, but the former 3-time champion was able to fight back. Despite the numbers against him, Tibbs kept coming out on top.
  • Commissioner Fulton called for another referee to come out. As he was counting the pinfall, both Even Stevens pulled referee John Ryan outside the ring and entered to attack Tibbs. The official then disqualified Collins.

WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION: MISTER TIBBS

Commissioner Fulton then charged the ring and announced that next month it would be Mister Tibbs and Johnny Collins, with no disqualification, at the anniversary show.

Mammone returned for revenge, Absolute Brand retains, and Percival is now “The One” – Results from Blood Sweat and 14 Years https://www.victoryprowrestling.com/mammone-returned-for-revenge-absolute-brand-retains-and-percival-is-now-the-one-results-from-blood-sweat-and-14-years/ Sun, 08 Mar 2020 16:00:00 +0000 https://victoryprowrestling.com.thedeadend.net/2012/?p=7345

Coach Mammone made a beeline to the ring to start the show off, cutting off the ring announcer and keeping it straight to the point. After being taken out, he’s back and he wants revenge against Kyler Khan and the Influence.

Looking to the locker room, Mammone and the VPW Faithful were surprised as Kyler Khan came to the ring from the fans and attacked the VPW Champion from behind. Making the save was Eric James? Apparently so!

The New York State champion then mentioned that the rest of the Influence wasn’t there tonight, and that Kyler Khan was here to do the dirty work. James called Khan the Influence’s bitch.

Kyler Khan then told Eric James that tonight he would be facing Ryan Galeone. Khan then said there was more, that per VPW Commissioner Kevin Fulton, it would be a triple threat match. With no disqualification. And that the Influence called in a favor, bringing out Johnny Clash.

Eric James and Coach Mammone then ended it with a handshake, as James said, “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.”

LAWRENCE SPIRAL vs LAID BACK LANCE ANDERSON

  • Lawrence Spiral tried to lock up early with Lance Anderson, but Anderson was super casual.
  • A thumb wrestling match broke out in a wrestling contest, which Spiral won. After that, he insisted that they start their wrestling match now.
  • Spiral picked up momentum but after a miscue in the corner, Anderson took him for an airplane spin. A dizzy Anderson then fell, giving Spiral a headbutt, to pick up the win.

WINNER: LANCE ANDERSON

ANASTASIA MORNINGSTAR vs ENVY vs FACEBREAKER MEGAN MASON

  • Mason and Envy decided to team up against Anastasia early on, double teaming her until she spilled outside the ring.
  • Envy and Mason then turned to each other and started going at it.
  • Silk E Smooth, manager of Karen BamBam, came to the ring looking to scout the women during the match.
  • Anastasia came back to action and her and Mason went at it for a bit.
  • The match came to an end after Envy took a Facebreaker from Mason before getting pinned.

WINNER: MEGAN MASON

JOHNNY “PRETTY BOY” COLLINS (w/ the Even Stevens) vs “THE NOTORIOUS” DEZMOND COLE

  • Collins started by giving Cole a mirror as a gift, before attacking him. Cole returned the volley with high impact moves.
  • The Even Stevens distracted the referee as the other would assist Collins throughout the match.
  • Collins tried to submit Cole with a triangle lock but the Notorious one escaped and came back on fire. After a block buster, Collins spilled to the outside. Cole then took this moment to fly.
  • Once back in the ring, Stephen Azure held Cole back, distracting him. Collins then rolled up Cole with an O’Connor roll and hooked the tights to steal the win.

WINNER: JOHNNY “PRETTY BOY” COLLINS

Last month, Percival the Third brutally assaulted his tag team partner Aaron Rourke. The Voice of Victory Pro Wrestling John E Radioo brought him out to ask him why.

He first declared that he will no longer be referred to by that name, and that moving forward he would be known as Percy Ryan. From there, he went on to explain why he did what he did to Rourke by starting that he hated every single person in VPW.

Percy Ryan said that he thought if he was like everyone else, that he would rise to the top. But he was done with that, now he was the one reason why people came to VPW. He then called out Aaron Rourke saying that Rourke’s lucky he didn’t go to the hospital to rip his damn leg off.

Percy Ryan then called out and asked anyone to come out from the back. Phillip Cardigan answered the call, introducing himself to the fans, walking to the ring with a tumbler and letting the fans know he had a 401k, insurance, and great medical.

PERCY RYAN vs PHILLIP CARDIGAN

  • Cardigan started off strong against Ryan, celebrating with the fans with a dance in the ring as Ryan was on the outside.
  • Once with the advantage, Percy Ryan focused on Phillip Cardigan’s leg, grounding him.
  • Cardigan grabbed his tumbler and “caffeinated up” to regain control
  • Looking to finish off Percy Ryan, Phillip Cardigan rolled out of the corner for what looked like an Honor Roll DDT, but Ryan had Cardigan’s tumbler in his hand and used it as a weapon.

WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION: PHILLIP CARDIGAN

After the match, Percy Ryan focused on Cardigan’s leg again, grapevining it

VPW NEW YORK STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
CHAMPION ERIC JAMES vs THE ADRENALINE RUSH RYAN GALEONE vs JOHNNY CLASH

  • The triple threat started off with Kyler Khan dragging Eric James outside the ring and beating him around the ring as Johnny Clash took on Ryan Galeone inside the ring. Khan’s assault continued, leading James to the locker room area leaving Galeone and Clash in the ring.
  • The two heavyweights went back and forth, with Clash showing power and ruthlessness and Galeone showing uncanny agility for a man his size.
  • The action went back and forth until Clash went for a shortcut and threw a couple of steel chairs in the ring. As he was about to use them, Eric James returned to the ring
  • Clash attempted to use the chair, but James dropkicked the chair into Clash which was the knockout blow.

WINNER AND STILL NEW YORK STATE CHAMPION: ERIC JAMES

VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
CHAMPIONS THE ABSOLUTE BRAND (Alvin Alvarez & the Giant Andre) w/ Silk E Smooth
vs THE EVEN STEVENS (Steve Somerset/Steven Azure) w/ Johnny Collins

  • The champions did not get a proper introduction before the match. They stormed the ring, still hot from how last month’s show ended with them being attacked by Johnny Collins and Steve Somerset, so they started outside the ring with an attack on the challengers.
  • Silk E Smooth was thrown out for attacking Steve Somerset outside the ring. This was a good acting job by Somerset, who was never really attacked by Smooth, who protested before heading to the back.
  • The Even Stevens sharpened up the talons and worked to dissect Alvin Alvarez using double team moves and lots of trash talking to keep his focus down.
  • Keeping Andre out of the ring was a sound strategy, but with Azure and Alvarez down in the ring, Collins ran to the corner to try and knock Andre off the apron. Turnabout being fair play, the referee saw this and threw him out of ringside.
  • Andre’s 6’7″ 300 pound frame gave the champions the advantage again and Alvarez a breather, but the challengers fought on. However, after a double choke slam from Andre, followed with a running splash into the corner from Alvarez and a big boot from the big man, the champions retained.

WINNERS AND STILL VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE ABSOLUTE BRAND

TRIPLE THREAT
KARLO VICE vs MIKE ANTHONY vs BRYCE DONOVAN

  • Before the match started, Karlo Vice tried to create an alliance with Mike Anthony. When he was rejected, he tried to make one with Bryce Donovan. He accepted, and Vice went for a front kick, but Donovan saw it coming.
  • Donovan and Anthony took turns teeing off against Vice before dumping him outside the ring, giving them the focus in the ring.
  • Karlo Vice re-entered for battle and took a beating for hit, but escaped the clutches of Anthony, and just in time, too. Donovan charged with a spear that took Anthony out.
  • The sheer power of Bryce Donovan kept him in the match but the resilience of his opponents kept them going. But after being knocked out the ring, Anthony was able to connect with a ripcord clothesline and cover Karlo Vice for the win.

WINNER: MIKE ANTHONY

THE MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING
VPW CHAMPIONSHIP
CHAMPION COACH MAMMONE vs THE INFLUENCE’S KYLER KHAN

  • During the introductions, Khan attacked Coach. Mammone, on his way to the ring, was ready for his challenger as they battled outside the ring to the concession tables. They continued to battle until the referee was somehow able to guide them back to the ring to start the match.
  • Coach was able to start the match strong and in control until he went over the top rope. While trying to skin the cat, Khan took advantage and choked him out.
  • The two battled outside the ring, with Khan working on the champion and wearing him down before throwing him back inside, working on the arm the Influence broke in January.
  • Khan pulled out Coach’s whistle and ran the ropes, stomping Mammone’s arm. Coach kicked him and took control again, fighting back with one arm.
  • Trying to regain momentum, Kyler Khan took his belt off to use it as a weapon but didn’t get to use it.
  • Mammone connected with a Stinger splash in the corner, then worked on Khan some more. He went to the well one too many times though, with a second splash in the corner thwarted with Khan pulling the referee in the way.
  • Coach kept fighting though, noting the belt on the mat, and looked to use it. Khan gave him a low blow and then grabbed the belt before whipping him like a government mule. He then used the belt as a restraint, tying Mammone up and binding him to the ropes.
  • Khan introduced a steel chair but Mammone fought back, despite being tied to the ring. Khan released the bind from the rope and set Mammone in the middle of the ring but Coach broke free. Khan tried to choke Mammone out but the champion fought back.
  • Mammone returned the favor and used the belt Khan brought into the ring as a weapon, whipping the challenger. Teasing the chair again, the champion hesitated. Khan lured him in, but instead of hitting Coach, he punched the chair. Mammone connected with a reverse DDT and covered Khan, with the second official storming the ring for the three count.

WINNER AND STILL VPW CHAMPION: COACH MAMMONE

After they attacked the VPW Tag Team Champions

Johnny “Pretty Boy” Collins was almost a two-time VPW Tag Team Champion at Before the Storm. With Steve Somerset, Collins attacked the Absolute Brand before their match, and throughout the contest had shown they were close to taking the championships.

However, the sheer size of Giant Andre and power of Alvin Alvarez helped them retain the titles.

After the match, Somerset and Collins attacked the Absolute Brand with low blows before turning their attention to Silk E Smooth, who also received a beat down from “Pretty Likeable.”

The Even Stevens, also known as Commissioner Kevin Fulton’s favorite tag team not in the Influence, have been granted a title show at Victory Pro Wrestling’s anniversary show, Blood Sweat and 14 Years.

Cat and Cop Connection get a chance to regain VPW Tag Team Championships from The Absolute Brand at Before the Storm 2/22 https://www.victoryprowrestling.com/cat-and-cop-connection-get-a-chance-to-regain-vpw-tag-team-championships-from-the-absolute-brand-at-before-the-storm-2-22/ Sun, 26 Jan 2020 18:50:58 +0000 https://victoryprowrestling.com.thedeadend.net/2012/?p=7217 The VPW Faithful were in shock when the tag team championships changed hands. The unlikely duo of Fighter Cat and Grammar Cop defeated the Fast and Furriest to claim the top of the tag team division in Victory Pro Wrestling.

Since then, the fan favorites were in control of the scene, despite Grammar Cop’s injury in the summer of 2019.

Alvin Alvarez had been looking for a unit to dominate VPW since he joined in 2018. He vetted out various prospects but they all continued to fail or quit to the high demand of excellence Alvarez demanded of them.

Then, in the summer of 2019, he joined forces with the Giant Andre. Andre had been teaming up with Kyler Khan, who suffered a knee injury and was unable to compete for several months. Not to be one to sit on the sideline, Andre listened to Alvarez and joined the Absolute Brand.

At first, the relationship was rocky, but after several losses, Alvarez snapped. He declared they would lose no more, and that the end game was the VPW Tag Team Championships.

The Cat and Cop Connection continued on, defending the titles against the Plague and The Influence before the end of the year. At Disorderly Conduct, the Absolute Brand defeated SPITE and were ranked as number one contenders as a result.

The sheer power and strength from Giant Andre and the strength and agility of Alvin Alvarez was too much to overcome as Fighter Cat and Grammar Cop were simply outmatched in the ring. The titles changed hands after 273 days on top, ushering in the era of the Absolute Brand.

At Before the Storm, Saturday February 22, the Cat and Cop Connection gets an opportunity to redeem themselves and reclaim their rightful spot on top of the tag team division, but they have to go through Alvarez and Andre to do it.
