The list of vanquished victums continues to grow for Valentina Vasquez since she’s become Victory Pro Wrestling’s Women’s Champion.

Valentina’s opponents have come from far and wide to challenge for her championship, but her most recent threat is coming from a lot closer than she could have imagined.

After finishing off Mason at the Showdown in St James, Valentina was attacked by a woman in a black hoodie. This woman happened to be Gabby Gilbert.

Gilbert and Vasquez are the current FUN Tag Team Champions in south Jersey. They have trained together and travelled together. Best friends, even.

Gabby Gilbert was one of eight participants in the Queen of New York battle royale. She failed to become Queen and hasn’t been seen since in Victory Pro Wrestling. However, with her best friend capturing the VPW Women’s Championship, Gilbert was happy.

Vasquez carries the VPW Women’s Championship wherever she goes. Gilbert is reminded of the opportunity she could have had, first becoming Queen and then possibly becoming VPW Women’s Champion. Day in and day out, with her best friend holding a title Gilbert believes could have been hers, she finally snapped.

Victory Pro Wrestling travels to Pro Game Athletics in Bay Shore for the first time ever in October for the 2022 Gold Rush Rumble, and Gabby Gilbert will be challenging Valentina Vasquez for the top title. It won’t be colorful sunshine and unicorns for Gilbert as she is feeding off the dark side of the rainbow.

Can Valentina overcome the wrath of the new, dark side of Gilbert? Or will Gabby be just another vanquished victim of Latina heat?

What will happen when Victory Pro Wrestling makes it’s debut in Bay Shore at Pro Game Athletics with the 2022 Gold Rush Rumble on Saturday night October 15th?

ICYMI: Results from VPW 151: Power Grab https://www.victoryprowrestling.com/icymi-results-from-vpw-151-power-grab/ Sun, 08 May 2022 22:32:46 +0000 https://victoryprowrestling.com.thedeadend.net/2012/?p=9128 Victory Pro Wrestling returned to the Sports Arena in St. James, NY for a jam packed Power Grab. The show was headlined by the Victory Pro Wrestling Championship match the champion “Pretty Boy” Johnny “Pretty Boy” Collins and challenger “The Vestler” Jack Tomlinson.

“THE THROWBACK” ERIC JAMES vs MIKE ANTHONY

Eric James made his way down to the ring to open the show. He praised the crowd and the locker room saying that there’s not a whole lot left for him to do at Victory Pro Wrestling. Mike Anthony interrupts him and tells James that he knows that James is the guy in VPW. Anthony challenges James to a match to prove that he will be the guy in Victory Pro Wrestling after beating Eric James.

The match starts off with a lock-up between the two men. After some chain wrestling and a feeling-out process of sorts, Anthony was able to gain the upper hand briefly. James, however, would hit a cross-body from the top rope and pin Anthony for a two-count. James followed this up with a drop kick, sending Anthony to the outside.

James attempts a suicide dive, but Anthony is able to stop him in his tracks. Anthony hangs James up on the middle rope and regains control in this match. Anthony beats up on James for a good portion of the match. Every time James tried to counter, Anthony was one step ahead.

The two men start exchanging punches in the ring, which ends with James gaining the upper hand. James makes his way to the top rope, but Anthony meets him up there. Anthony hits a superplex from the top rope onto James and the two crash and burn in the ring. After distracting the referee, Anthony low-blows James and rolls him up to pin him for the victory.

WINNER: MIKE ANTHONY

VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
CHAMPION VALENTINA VASQUEZ vs ANASTASIA MORNINGSTAR

Valentina Vasquez made her way down to the ring first, she was followed by Anastasia Morningstar, who made her entrance next. The match starts off with Morningstar telling Vasquez the championship is coming home with her. The two women then lock-up.

Vasquez quickly gains the upper hand on Morningstar, showing why she is the woman to beat in Victory Pro Wrestling. However, when the fight spills to the outside, Morningstar slams Vasquez on the ring apron, and gains control of the match.

Morningstar continues to beat up on Vasquez with slaps to the chest, followed by a suplex. The match is majorly in Morningstar’s favor and it looks like an uphill battle for Vasquez to get back into the match. However, Vasquez is able to fight back and take Morningstar off her feet.

Morningstar is able to hit a massive sit-down powerbomb on the Victory Pro Wrestling women’s champion and pins her for just a two-count. Vasquez is able to dig down deep and hit Morningstar with a swinging neckbreaker and pin her to retain her Women’s Championship

WINNER: AND STILL VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPION, VALENTINA VASQUEZ

DR. COOL AND PAT FITZPATRICK VS
“KING OF NEW YORK” PHIL CARDIGAN AND FRANCIS KIP STEVENS

After both teams make their way to the ring, the fans are firmly behind the team of Cardigan and Kip. “Long live the king” chants take over the arena. After some funny antics by Cardigan, he starts the match out with Fitzpatrick. The two lock-up and have a feeling-out process early on.

Kip gives Cardigan his goggles, and Cardigan wears them while beating up on Fitzpatrick. He ties Fitzpatrick into a knot in the middle of the ring, and quickly gains the upper hand. Fitzpatrick is able to tag in Dr. Cool and Dr. Cool makes his way into the match.

Cardigan puts his goggles on Dr. Cool blinding him with his own hair. While blinded, Dr. Cool rolls up the referee, and Cardigan counts to three. Dr. Cool is celebrating with Cardigan as he is still blinded. Cardigan makes the tag into Kip, and the two begin beating up on Dr. Cool. Dr. Cool is able to finally tag in Fitzpatrick.

Kip takes the fight to Fitzpatrick, but thanks to a distraction by Dr. Cool, Fitzpatrick is able to gain the upper hand. Fitzpatrick and Dr. Cool tag in and out and continue to beat up on Kip and prevent him from tagging out.

Kip is finally able to tag in Cardigan. Cardigan immediately comes in and drinks his coffee. He comes in hot and takes out Fitzpatrick. He hits a cutter on Fitzpatrick and pins him for a two-count. Dr. Cool gets involved again and takes out Cardigan from behind. Fitzpatrick goes to pin Cardigan, but Kip makes the save this time.

Kip and Cardigan hit a double team move on both Dr. Cool, and Pat Fitzpatrick. Cardigan calls for a double chokeslam on both Dr. Cool and Fitzpatrick, and thanks to Kip pouring coffee in his mouth, he is able to hit the double chokeslam. Cardigan then pins Dr. Cool to pick up the three-count and victory.

WINNERS: “KING OF NEW YORK” PHIL CARDIGAN AND FRANCIS KIP STEVENS

“ABSOLUTE” ALVIN ALVAREZ VS DR. SLEEP ANTHONY GANGONE

Alvin Alvarez makes his way down to the ring first. However, Silk E. Smooth makes his way out next. Smooth says that the Giant Andre doesn’t think Alvarez is worthy of a match with him, but he found something for him and brings out Dr. Sleep Anthony Gangone.

Gangone takes his time on the outside in the early going, as he doesn’t want to face off with Alvarez right away. The match starts with a lock-up and the match quickly spills to the outside. Gangone and Alvarez fight on the outside in the early stages of the match. Alvin sends Gangone back into the ring and continues to beat him up.

Alvarez hits a body slam followed by a leg drop and is in firm control of the match. However, thanks to a distraction by Smooth, Gangone is now in the driver’s seat of the match. Gangone locks a submission move onto Alvarez, but Alvarez is able to fight his way out. Alvarez hits a big clothesline on Gangone, turning him inside out.

Alvarez follows this up with a big splash onto Gangone. Smooth once again makes the save and gets involved. Gangone gets the cane from Smooth and hits Alvarez over the head with it. Gangone follows that up with a DDT for a two-count.

Gangone makes his way to the top rope, but Alvarez counters Gangone’s high-risk move. Alvarez is able to lock in a submission move of his own and make Gangone tap to win the match.

WINNER: “ABSOLUTE” ALVIN ALVAREZ

After the match, Kaide Lothbrok jumps Alvarez from behind. Kaide starts taking out VPW officials as well. VPW Commissioner Kevin Fulton comes down and gets into the face of Kaide. Fulton tells Kaide to leave, or he will be suspended indefinitely. Kaide attacks Fulton, but Alvarez gets back up and throws Kaide out of the ring.

Commissioner Fulton then announces that on June 11th at Under Pressure, we will see Kaide take on “Absolute” Alvin Alvarez. Kaide gets thrown out but makes his way back and hits Alvarez with a stunner before leaving under his own power.

NEW YORK STATE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
CHAMPION DEZMOND COLE vs FILIPINOT GRIGIO

Filipinot Grigio makes his way out to the ring first. He is followed by the New York State Champion, Dezmond Cole. The match starts off with Grigio taking his time and not wanting to fight Cole right away. However, the two finally lock-up and we see some good chain wrestling.

Cole gets hit with some hip tosses by Grigio. Grigio tried to get Cole to run to him so he can send him over the top rope, but Cole is smarter than that, and stops himself. Grigio once again tried to stay away from Cole, but Cole finally catches him.

Grigio takes out Cole with a spinning head scissors move. Cole fights back, taking out Grigio. Cole goes high-risk for a big move, but crashes and burns when Grigio moves out of the way. Grigio goes back on the offensive, taking the fight to Cole.

Cole is able to hit Grigio with a shoulder tackle and follows it up with a suplex. Cole makes his way back to the top to hit a swanton bomb on Grigio and follows it up with urinagi on Grigio. Cole is able to pin Grigio to retain his New York State Championship.

WINNER: AND STILL NEW YORK STATE CHAMPION, DEZMOND COLE

TOP CONTENDERS MATCH FOR NYS CHAMPIONSHIP
PERCY RYAN vs “BAD” BRAD BENSON vs “MACHINE GUN MONEY” DOMINICK DENARO

Percy Ryan makes his way down to the ring first. He is followed by “Bad” Brad Benson and “Machine Gun Money” Dominick Denaro. Ryan makes his way to the outside in the beginning of the match to get his picture taken. Denaro follows him to the outside and takes him out. Benson hits a cross-body onto Denaro taking the fight to him as well.

Denaro and Benson make their way back inside of the ring and continue to take the fight to each other. Ryan makes his way to the ring apron, but Denaro quickly knocks him down. Benson then distracts Denaro, giving Ryan the upper hand. Ryan goes to pin Denaro, but Benson breaks up the pinfall.

Denaro gets back into the match and hits kicks to both Benson’s and Ryan’s chest. Denaro locks Benson in his submission hold. Ryan attempts to come in from the outside, but when Denaro challenges him, Ryan backs away and leaves the arena, Denaro chokes out Benson to win the match.

WINNER AND TOP CONTENDER FOR THE NYS CHAMPIONSHIP, DOMINICK DENARO

After the match, the New York State Champion Dezmond Cole makes his way out to the entrance way. Cole and Denaro shake hands and have a stare down.

VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
CHAMPIONS THE EVEN STEVENS vs SECURITY INC.

The Even Steven’s make their way down to the ring first. Security Inc comes out next and had the crowd behind them. Steve Somerset and Ronnie Moses start the match out for their respective teams. The two men start the match with a lock-up. Moses tried to frisk Somerset multiple times, which causes Somerset to back up.

Moses is finally able to frisk Somerset and he pulls out a knife from Somerset’s boot. Moses quickly tags in his partner, Malcom Murray. Steve Somerset makes the tag out as well, tagging in Steven Azure. Murray takes out Azure with headbutts. He then makes the tag and Moses is the legal man again.

Thanks to a distraction, Azure is able to take out Moses. Azure makes the tag to Somerset and the two beat up on Ronnie Moses. Moses tried to fight back, but to no avail. Finally, Moses is able to take out Somerset and tag in Murray. Murray takes out both members of the Even Stevens.

Murray tags Moses back into the match and the two attempt a double team move on Steven Azure.  Somerset is able to make the save, and Azure hits a big move on Moses and pins him, but Murray makes the save. Security Inc. is able to hit their finishing move on Azure, but Somerset is able to pull Azure out of the ring, breaking up the pinfall.

Even Stevens attempts to walk out, but Security Inc. stops them. They send them back into the ring, where Moses calls for his finishing move on Azure. While Moses isn’t paying attention, Somerset handcuffs Murray to the ring post. Even Stevens are able to hit their finisher on Moses to retain their VPW Tag-Team Championships.

WINNER: AND STILL VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, THE EVEN STEVENS

“THE INFAMOUS” ADAM CAIN vs BROTHER GREATNESS

Adam Cain makes his way down to the ring first, followed by Brother Greatness. Brother Greatness uses his speed in the early part of this match to take the fight to Cain. Brother Greatness stays on Cain in the early part of this match, keeping the match in his favor. Brother Greatness makes his way to the top rope, but Cain is able to push the official into him, knocking Brother Greatness off the top rope.

Cain takes the fight to Brother Greatness and does a good job at grounding him. Brother Greatness tried to fight back, but it’s to no avail. Silk E. Smooth makes his way out to the ring to distract Brother Greatness. Cain rolls up Brother Greatness for the three-count off the distraction.

WINNER: “THE INFAMOUS” ADAM CAIN

After the match, Brother Greatness confronts Smooth, but Cain attacks him from behind. Cain hits Brother Greatness over the head with Smooth’s cane. Smooth and Adam Cain shake hands before leaving the ring.

VICTORY PRO WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
CHAMPION JOHNNY “PRETTY BOY” COLLINS vs “THE VESTLER” JACK TOMLINSON

Jack Tomlinson makes his way down to the ring first, accompanied by 8-year-old fan Bodhi who is celebrating his birthday at the show. Collins makes his way down to the ring next, accompanied by the Even Stevens. Collins wishes Jack Tomlinson’s mom a Happy Mother’s Day, and hands the ring announcer a special introduction to give him.

The match starts off with Collins hiding behind the ropes when Tomlinson comes after him. Tomlinson quickly takes the fight to Collins. Collins is able to hit a shoulder block on Tomlinson, but Tomlinson quickly gets back up and gets back into the match. Collins goes to the outside, but Tomlinson follows and hits him with a kick, and a flip over the top rope onto Collins.

Tomlinson attempts a Subscriber Stomp, but Collins rolls out of the ring. Tomlinson follows him to the outside, but thanks to a distraction, Collins gains control of the match. Collins goes to hit Tomlinson on the outside, but ends up smacking the ring post, allowing Tomlinson to regain control of the match.

However, thanks to another distraction by the Even Stevens, Tomlinson’s momentum doesn’t last long. Collins is in control of the match again and takes the fight to Tomlinson. Tomlinson tried to fight back, but to no avail. Collins locks in a submission hold onto Tomlinson, but Tomlinson is able to get out of it.

Collins hits a fisherman suplex onto Tomlinson for a two-count. Collins stays on Tomlinson and doesn’t let up. However, Tomlinson is able to hit a kick on Collins, getting himself back into the match. Tomlinson gets fired up and quickly takes the fight to Collins. Tomlinson calls for the Subscriber Stomp again, but Collins counters with a powerbomb.

Collins attempts to hit a spear on Tomlinson, but Tomlinson jumps over Collins. After more back-and-forth, Collins puts Tomlinson on his shoulders, but Tomlinson is able to get out of the move and hits a Subscriber Stomp on Collins. Somerset pulls the referee out, and Azure hits Tomlinson over the head with his tag-team championship belt.

After the cheap shot by Steven Azure, Johnny Collins hits a spear onto Jack Tomlinson and pins him to retain his VPW Championship.

WINNER: AND STILL VPW CHAMPION, JOHNNY COLLINS

After the match, Commissioner Fulton comes out and says he’s very tired of the Cult of Collins. Fulton announces that on June 11, the Even Stevens will be defending their titles against a surprise team to be named later. And if the Even Stevens lose their match, the Even Stevens will be banned from ringside when Johnny Collins once again defends his VPW Championship against Jack Tomlinson.

ICYMI: Results from VPW: Blood, Sweat, and 16 Years https://www.victoryprowrestling.com/icymi-results-from-vpw-blood-sweat-and-16-years/ Sun, 20 Mar 2022 22:51:23 +0000 https://victoryprowrestling.com.thedeadend.net/2012/?p=9018 Victory Pro Wrestling returned to the Sports Arena in St. James, NY for a jam packed Blood, Sweat, and 16 years. Saturday’s show was the 16th anniversary of VPW. It was headlined by a No Disqualification match between the Victory Pro Wrestling Champion Johnny Collins and the challenger Mister Tibbs.

KING OF NEW YORK SEMI-FINALS
MIKE ANTHONY vs BOBBY ORLANDO

Bobby Orlando and Mike Anthony started out the match with a war of words. Orlando told Anthony that he was his mom which set Anthony off. Orlando also displayed some of his funny antics in the beginning of the match to get under the skin of Mike Anthony.

The two began fighting outside of the ring. Orlando got the crowd involved by holding up Anthony to be slapped by the VPW faithful. However, Anthony was able to re-take control of the match and began taking the fight to Bobby.

Orlando bit Anthony and was able to get back into the match. He then made his way to the top rope, but Anthony was able to counter the move and regain control of the match. That didn’t last long though as Orlando was able to quickly gain momentum again.

As Orlando was setting up Anthony for a big move in the corner, Anthony brings in Bobby Jr. This distracted Orlando and allowed Anthony to hit Orlando with his finisher, giving him the victory.

WINNER: MIKE ANTHONY

“ABSOLUTE” ALVIN ALVAREZ vs.  “DR. COOL” JAY KLANG

Dr. Cool challenged Alvarez to a match and Alvarez accepted. Alvin began the match by having some fun with Dr. Cool. Alvarez wore the stethoscope and taunted Dr. Cool playing mind games to get in his head. The match was back-and-forth between the two men to start.

Alvarez made his way to the ring. Dr. Cool and Silk E. Smooth made their way out to the ring next. The crowd was ready to see Alvarez finally get his hands on The Giant Andre. However, Dr. Cool and Smooth had other plans.

However, thanks to Smooth, Dr. Cool gained the upper hand on Alvarez. Dr. Cool remained in control for a good portion of the match. He then slapped Alvarez in the face, and this just irritated the big man. Alvarez hit Dr. Cool with a clothesline and helped him regain the momentum. Alvarez was able to hit his finisher to win the match.

WINNER: “ABSOLUTE” ALVIN ALVAREZ

Jack Tomlinson made his way out to the ring and grabbed a microphone. He went on to say that after subscriber stomping Kaide and getting rid of him at the last show, he wants to get back on the path to VPW gold.

The Even Stevens make their way out to the ring and talk about how the main event of the show will be a 3-on-1 and how they will hold all the gold after tonight. Tomlinson challenges them to a handicap match with the VPW Tag Team Championships on the line. If Tomlinson wins, he and the Jack Pack will be the VPW Tag Team Champions.

“THE VESTLER” JACK TOMLINSON VS. THE EVEN STEVENS

Stephen Azure says that Tomlinson doesn’t want this match, but it does happen. Tomlinson takes both of them out right off the bat. However, thanks to heel tactics by the VPW Tag Team Champions, the Even Stevens take over.

The Stevens set up Tomlinson for a double suplex but Tomlinson counters and hits them both with a double cutter. Tomlinson then hit a subscriber stomp on Stephen Azure, but Steve Somerset breaks up the pinfall. The Even Stevens then both attack Tomlinson and don’t abide to the tag team rules and get disqualified.

WINNER: JACK TOMLINSON

After the match, Mr. Tibbs snuck in from the crowd to save Jack Tomlinson. Tibbs takes out both Stevens with a pipe and hopes to even the playing field for his main event match tonight against the VPW Champion, Johnny Collins. q q q

KING OF NEW YORK SEMI-FINALS MATCH
BROTHER GREATNESS vs PHIL CARDIGAN

Both men make their way out to the ring. Phil Cardigan comes out second and they both danced during his entrance. When the match started, Cardigan decided he has to stretch, Brother Greatness joins him. However, Brother Greatness tries to clothesline Phil out of nowhere, but Phil counters.

Phil continued to use some of his funny antics against Brother Greatness and try to dance with him as well. However, Brother Greatness would take control of the match. Phil Cardigan kept on trying to drink his coffee, but Brother Greatness did a good job at not letting that happen.

Cardigan was finally able to get to his coffee and drink it. This made him “caffeine” up and got him back into the match. After some more back-and-forth wrestling, Brother Greatness made his way to the top rope to attempt to hit a big move on Cardigan. Cardigan was able to counter and hit his finishing move for the win.

WINNER: PHIL CARDIGAN

VPW NEW YORK STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
CHAMPION ERIC JAMES vs DEZMOND COLE

Both men gave each other a fist bump as a sign of respect to kick things off. The match started with some chain wrestling where both men were trying to gain momentum. However, neither could and it was a solid back-and-forth match in the beginning.

James was soon able to take over the match and remain in control through all of the offense Cole tried to muster against him. James showed why he was the New York State Champion for as long as he was. The crowd was firmly behind Cole throughout the match. Cole was able to get back into the match with a flurry of slaps to the champion.

The two then start to exchange hits but Cole was able to continue his momentum and get the better of James. Cole made his way to the top rope, but James made his way up right behind him as well. James goes for a superplex from the top, but Cole was able to counter and get out of it. Finally, Cole was able to hit his finishing move for the win.

WINNER: AND NEW VPW NEW YORK STATE CHAMPION, DEZMOND COLE

Mike Anthony attacked Phil Cardigan during intermission to try and weaken him up for the finals of the King of New York tournament that would be taking place later that night.

THE WOLVES OF ODIN vs. THE HOUNDS OF HATRED

The Wolves of Odin – Kaide Lothbrok and Dante Drago – made their way down to the ring first. Then the Hounds of Hatred – Bo Sullivan, Bam Sullivan, and Mouse – came down to the ring for the match.

When they reached the ring, Kaide grabbed a microphone and says that the three men on the other team he trained, and they weren’t his best students. This prompted “Bad” Brad Benson to debut and attack the Hounds of Hatred from behind.

Kaide, Brad, and Drago left the hounds laying, and they were down a man as Bo had to be taken to the back. Bam grabbed the microphone and said that they were fine with three on two. So, the scheduled match became a handicap match.

Mouse and Drago started for their teams. In the beginning, it was a solid, back-and-forth match between the two teams. However, that didn’t last long. The Wolves had the numbers game working in their favor, and this prompted them to take control.

Mouse was finally able to tag in Bam. Bam came in the match ready to go and he took everyone out. Bam gets taken out by Drago and Brad. We then see a cool “tower of doom” spot in the corner that showed Mouse taking the brunt of it.

Bo was able to make his way back to the ring after being cared to by the medical team, tagged into the match, and started brawling with Kaide immediately. Bo was able to gain the upper hand and Kaide was now put in a 3-on-1 situation with the Hounds of Hatred. Each member of the Hounds hit their finisher on Kaide and they were able to pin him for the victory.

WINNERS: THE HOUNDS OF HATRED

After the match, Drago and Brad took out Bam Sullivan and Mouse. Kaide was alone in the ring with Bo Sullivan. Out of nowhere, Kaide shot a fireball into Bo’s face and doctors rushed the ring. The Wolves then take out the Assistant to the VPW Commissioner James M Sullivan. This prompted VPW Commissioner Kevin Fulton to come out and suspend the Wolves of Odin indefinitely.

KING OF NEW YORK FINALS:
MIKE ANTHONY vs. PHIL CARDIGAN

The match started off very hot and very fast. The two began brawling almost immediately, picking up where they left off at intermission. Anthony quickly was able to gain the upper hand, but Cardigan showed a lot of will-power fighting back.

Anthony remained in control of the match, but Cardigan out of nowhere was able to hit a cross-body onto Anthony. Cardigan took the fight right back to Anthony. Cardigan made his way to the top rope and attempted to jump on Anthony.

Anthony countered this move, but Cardigan stood on Anthony to keep the momentum in his favor. Anthony went for his finisher out of nowhere, but Cardigan countered and hit his for the win.

WINNER: THE NEW KING OF NEW YORK, PHIL CARDIGAN

VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
CHAMPION VALENTINA VASQUEZ vs LITTLE MEAN KATHLEEN

Both women made their entrances into the arena and the fans were behind Little Mean Kathleen from the start. The match started off with a collar-elbow tie-up between both women. It showed some back-and-forth wrestling in the beginning, but Valentina was very quickly able to gain the upper hand.

Little Mean Kathleen was able to fight back into the match thanks to her explosive offense. However, Valentina is quickly able to put a stop to it. Valentina controlled the match for a little while longer, but Kathleen was finally able to turn the tide in her favor.

Valentina rolled outside the ring to grab a chair and brought it in the ring, but the referee quickly noticed and threw the chair outside. While the referee was doing that, Valentina thought up another idea and gave Little Mean Kathleen the VPW Women’s Championship belt. Valentina laid down and when Referee Raul Lopez turned around, he disqualified Little Mean Kathleen because he thought she hit Vasquez with the belt.

WINNER: AND STILL VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPION, VALENTINA VASQUEZ

VPW CHAMPIONSHIP
NO DISQUALIFICATION
CHAMPION JOHNNY COLLINS vs. MISTER TIBBS

Tibbs tells Collins right off the bat that he will mess him up. The bell rings and Collins tries to run outside the ring already. Tibbs meets him outside and the two begin to fight outside of the ring and into the crowd.

The two men made their way to the entrance way and that is where Collins took over. Collins hit Tibbs into the guardrail and gave him a suplex in the entrance way. The two then continued to brawl through the audience and just beat the hell out of each other.

Finally, Tibbs was able to throw Collins into the ring, while throwing a steel chair into the ring as well. After Tibbs makes his way into the ring, Collins is able to regain control of the match and sets up a chair in the corner.

Collins is able to send Tibbs into the chair in the corner and follows that up with a spear for a two-count. Collins pulls a door out from under the ring and sets it up in another corner of the ring. He tries to spear Tibbs through the door but Tibbs catches him and throws him through the door.

The other members of Pretty Likeable – Stephen Azure and Steve Somerset, who was still nursing his knee – come out to aid Johnny Collins. Tibbs fights both Steven’s off and goes for the pin on Collins. Steve Somerset was able to break up the pinfall by pulling the referee. This pissed off Tibbs and Tibbs locked in a figure four leglock on Somerset. Collins then tries to break it up but Tibbs countered with an ankle lock – while simultaneously keeping the figure four on Somerset.

Stephen Azure makes the save for Somerset and Collins and takes Tibbs out. It turns into a 3-on-1 situation for Tibbs and things look bad for Tibbs.

Jack Tomlinson and Bobby Orlando make the save and take out the Stevens.

Meanwhile back in the ring, Collins spears Tibbs through another door and pins him to retain.

  • With the action outside the ring, Bobby started to work on Cain until the Infamous one took over. From there he showed a darker side we haven’t really seen from him before.
  • With the action back in the ring, the dirty tactics continued for Cain, which was bad news for Orlando.
  • Bobby was able to mount a comeback and regain control before heading to the top rope with a dabbing elbow to almost end the match, but Cain kicked out at 2-and-a-half.
  • Cain had Orlando in a nefarious position in the corner for a superplex setup but Bobby slipped out, then connected with a Death Valley Driver for the win.

WINNER: BOBBY ORLANDO

After the match, Brother Greatness came out to support his friend Adam Cain, who shoved him off and warned him to get out of his way.

PRETTY LIKEABLE ADDRESSES THE CROWD
The VPW Champion Johnny Collins and the VPW Tag Team Champions The Even Stevens, collectively known as Pretty Likeable came to the ring to address the fans. Collins started off by talking about his accomplishments, retiring Coach Mammone. He then directed the attention to the tag team champions.

Steve Somerset took the microphone and noted they were not going to be in action, even talking about how Stephen Azure just had Lasik surgery recently. Francis Kip Stevens and Phillip Cardigan came to the ring and challenged the champions to a match.

The Assistant to the Commissioner of Victory Pro Wrestling James Sullivan came out and made the match official, putting the titles on the line, and banned Johnny Collins from ringside.

VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
VPW Tag Team Champions The Even Stevens vs The Coffee Lovers

  • Referee Steven Dumeng admonished Collins and directed him to the locker room area before the match started. Once the bell rang, Somerset challenged Cardigan to take his glasses off so it would be a fair fight between Cardigan and Azure, except he.. just had.. Lasik surgery?
  • Once the hijinks were over, the match went back and forth. Kip and Cardigan had some fun early on until the champions finally took over.
  • The Coffee Lovers started to come back but the experience of the champions lead the Even Stevens to victory.

WINNERS: THE EVEN STEVENS

THE DOCTOR’S OFFICE W/ DR COOL JAY KLANG
Dr Cool’s guests were Silk E Smooth and The Giant Andre, who came to the ring wearing “We Broke Alvin’s Heart” t-shirts. Smooth then explained that while the Even Stevens attacked Andre, it was Smooth that took care of Andre. Meanwhile, Alvin Alvarez was too busy trying to be a hero instead of checking on his best friend.

Alvin Alvarez then came to the ring to call BS on the excuse, even then saying that since Alvin and Andre were in the ring together, they may as well go at it right there and then.

Silk and Andre then left, and Dr Cool taunted Alvin. Alvin beat him down before heading to the back.

KING OF NEW YORK QUALIFYING MATCH
BROTHER GREATNESS vs ….

Before the match, VPW Commissioner Kevin Fulton, along with the Assistant to the VPW Commissioner James Sullivan, came to the ring to address the issue at hand, and that was Brother Greatness’ original opponent Bryce Donovan suffering an injury that required surgery, therefore he was unable to be cleared to compete.

In his place, Commissioner Fulton found a suitable replacement, a former King of New York finalist, a former contender to the VPW Tag Team Championship, and a former contender to the VPW New York State Championship……

…the Assistant to the VPW Commissioner James Sullivan.

  • Still dressed in his button down shirt, Sullivan was cheered on by Commissioner Fulton. Sullivan went for a merry-go-round suplex but Greatness was able to counter. After a top rope bulldog, Brother Greatness advances into the King of New York tournament

WINNER: BROTHER GREATNESS

With the win, Brother Greatness joins Bobby Orlando, Mike Anthony and Phillip Cardigan in next month’s King of New York tournament to be held at the anniversary show.

NEW YORK STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
KARLO VICE vs NEW YORK STATE CHAMPION ERIC JAMES

Before the match started, Eric gave a shout out to Bryce Donovan to get well soon. As referee Nick Shin was about to get the match under way, Jarrett Diaz – who made appearances on AEW Dark – came to the ring. He noted that if he wanted to make an impact in VPW that getting a match with Eric James would be the way to do so. The champion asked the fans, and the fans agreed, so now it’s a triple threat.

KARLO VICE vs JARRETT DIAZ vs ERIC JAMES

  • The match started off hot with Eric James controlling the action and showing why he has been the longest reigning New York State Champion.
  • Karlo Vice took control and started a beatdown on the champion after James attempted a Code Red on Diaz. Vice and Diaz then started to work on James, but had a hard time working together.
  • Despite not having a lot of singles success, Vice was able to show that he could compete at the championship level, but the continued interaction with Diaz continued to be his downfall.
  • Diaz proved to be a tough competitor himself, proving he could also hang at the championship level, but the experience of the New York State Champion gave him the victory.

WINNER AND STILL NEW YORK STATE CHAMPION: ERIC JAMES

After the match, Karlo Vice attacked Eric James. Out to make the save was Dezmond Cole. He called for the microphone and gave it up to Eric James. Cole then talked about how how he felt after his return from injury that he wants a shot – Dezmond Cole against Eric James at the VPW Blood Sweat and 16 year anniversary show.

SINGLES MATCH
MIKE ANTHONY vs PAT FITZPATRICK

  • In a match that started brewing earlier in the night during the lumberjack match, Mike Anthony and Pat Fitzpatrick took to the ring to settle the score.
  • The back and forth action between the two spilled to the outside, where Fitzpatrick had the fans chop Mike Anthony.
  • The advantage Fitzpatrick had did not last long as Mike Anthony was able to gain control.
  • As Fitzpatrick started to regain momentum, Mike Anthony distracted the referee and hit his opponent with a low blow before connecting with a crazy DDT for the win.

WINNER: MIKE ANTHONY

The next contest started out with Kaide Lothbrok to the ring with Dante Drago and Beau Sullivan. Kaide was talking about Jack Tomlinson being a top contender, no.. a champion. But Kaide then warned Jack that one day, with an injury, the fans would betray Jack. Kaide once again offered his hand.

Instead they gave Jack a three-on-one beatdown until VSK made the save, returning the favor from the month before. VSK then called out Kaide and Dante for a tag team match.

TAG TEAM MATCH
KAIDE LOTHBROK/DANTE DRAGO (w/ Beau Sullivan) vs VSK/JACK TOMLINSON

  • This was a brutal match with a lot of animosity between both teams. VSK and Jack worked well as a tag team, but Dante showed an eagerness to impress Kaide.
  • One of the best matches of the night was almost ruined with Beau Sullivan entering the ring to knock Jack out with a set of brass knuckles. As Kaide held him up and Dante distracted the official, Beau swung.. Jack ducked.. and Kaide was knocked out.
  • Dante was taken out, then Kaide met a VSK superkick and Jack Tomlinson Spider-man Stomp before the match ended.

WINNERS: VSK AND JACK TOMLINSON

After the match, Kaide and Dante beat down Beau Sullivan and left him in the ring as a thank you for costing the Wolves the match.

VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
CLARA CARRERRAS vs VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPION VALENTINA VASQUEZ

  • The scrappy challenger Clara Carreras stepped up to the plate to challenge new champion Valentina Vasquez.
  • Valentina threw around the challenger, but Clara was able to return the favor.
  • The challenger connected with what looked like a 3-count after a Code Red. Vasquez then shoved Carreras into the corner, rolled her up for the pin, and put her foot on the ropes for leverage.

WINNER AND STILL VPW WOMEN’S CHAMPION: VALENTINA VASQUEZ

  • Johnny Collins playing mind games came to the ring dressed as Coach Mammone. Mister Tibbs wasn’t having any of that.
  • The challenger was on the defense early on as Mister Tibbs took control, but Collins continued to fight back.
  • As Collins looked to be lost, Stephen Azure jumped on the apron to distract the official. Steve Somerset grabbed the championship and ran to knock Mister Tibbs out, but instead knocked out referee Steven Dumeng.
  • With no official in the ring, Pretty Likeable triple teamed Mister Tibbs, but the former 3-time champion was able to fight back. Despite the numbers against him, Tibbs kept coming out on top.
  • Commissioner Fulton called for another referee to come out. As he was counting the pinfall, both Even Stevens pulled referee John Ryan outside the ring and entered to attack Tibbs. The official then disqualified Collins.

WINNER BY DISQUALIFICATION: MISTER TIBBS

Commissioner Fulton then charged the ring and announced that next month it would be Mister Tibbs and Johnny Collins, with no disqualification, at the anniversary show.
