The afternoon featured championship action, hard-hitting debuts and several heated confrontations, culminating in a closed challenge for the VPW New York State Championship.

Black Diamond def. Ken Powers

Black Diamond opened Riverfront Rumble 5 against The Next Level Ken Powers in a fight that quickly became impossible to contain. The two competitors battled inside and outside the ring area, turning the opening contest into a chaotic brawl.

Black Diamond continued to show the unpredictable aggression that has made him one of VPW’s most dangerous competitors. Powers attempted to match his intensity, but Black Diamond ultimately scored the victory.

The message from Black Diamond was clear from the opening bell: He may have been compared to Alvin Alvarez, but he intends to establish an identity all his own.

EWA-Maine Women’s Championship

Champion Kalypto def. Kayla Lopez by submission

The Monster Kalypto arrived in Portland with more than one championship on her mind. Before the match, Kalypto called out VPW Women’s Champion Amity LaVey, claiming VPW is holding Kalypto back from what she believes belongs to her.

Kalypto said she would not wait for VPW to give her an opportunity, instead traveling to Maine and winning the EWA-Maine Women’s Championship.

Making her VPW debut, the Bombshell Beauty Kayla Lopez pushed Kalypto to her limit. Lopez showed tremendous fight and gave the champion a competitive battle, but Kalypto’s dark and relentless offense eventually overwhelmed her.

Kalypto forced Lopez to submit, then made it clear that her sights remain firmly set on Amity LaVey and the VPW Women’s Championship.

VPW New York State Championship No. 1 Contender’s Match

Tough Love Tommy Heartfelt def. Georgio Lawrence and Brooklyn Outlaw Donovan

The New York State Championship picture exploded before a match even began. Champion David Graham entered with Manager of Champions Silk E Smooth and immediately insulted the Connecticut crowd, declaring that the fans did not deserve to see him compete.

After giving the audience a 15-second pose for photos, Graham prepared to leave for New York. Brooklyn Outlaw Donovan interrupted, declaring that Graham possesses something he wants: the New York State Championship.

The Specialist Georgio Lawrence soon entered the fray, arguing that Donovan should not be the next challenger. Tough Love Tommy Heartfelt followed and demanded his own opportunity. Graham then agreed to put the three challengers against one another, with the winner earning a championship opportunity later that night.

Donovan’s street-fight mentality, Lawrence’s kickboxing skills and Heartfelt’s high-octane offense produced a wild three-way battle. When the dust settled, Heartfelt earned the right to face Graham in the night’s closed challenge.

ABBS def. Vincent Michaels

Vincent Michaels came out firing against ABBS, attacking the Son of Wrestling following a pose-off and immediately establishing the pace of the match.

Michaels’ early assault gave him an advantage, but ABBS weathered the opening storm and eventually took control. The momentum shifted several times as Michaels fought back and appeared poised to steal the victory.

ABBS changed the pace at a critical moment and regained control before putting Michaels away to score the win.

Wrecking Ball Legursky def. Rex Lawless

The 2026 Gold Rush Rumble winner Rex Lawless was looking for another major victory, but he had a massive obstacle standing across the ring. Making his VPW debut, the 400-pound Wrecking Ball Legursky arrived ready to turn Lawless’ night into a fight for survival.

The battle quickly spilled outside the ring and into the crowd, where Legursky’s size and power gave him the advantage. Lawless eventually found an opening and used his new-found deviousness to change the momentum.

Legursky repeatedly attempted to put Lawless away, but the Pectoral Poseidon escaped the ring whenever the opportunity presented itself. Eventually, Lawless ran out of places to hide.

Legursky caught him with a devastating Wrecking Ball Smash in the corner, ending the contest and handing Lawless a major defeat.

Franco Costanzo def. Sgt. Axel Ramos

The Last Bronx Italian Franco Costanzo and Sgt. Axel Ramos wasted little time establishing the tone of their encounter. Both competitors came prepared for a physical fight and traded momentum throughout the contest.

Neither man was able to maintain control for long as the action moved back and forth. Ramos continued pressing forward, but Costanzo answered each challenge and eventually found the opening he needed.

Costanzo scored the victory in a hard-fought contest.

Security Inc. def. The Vetrano Brothers

The Vetrano Brothers made their VPW debut against Security Inc., but Officer Ronald Moses had business to handle before the opening bell. Moses declared that Security Inc. represented law and order in Victory Pro Wrestling and promised the Vetrano Brothers that justice would be served.

Mook and Shook answered with an impressive debut, matching Security Inc. with power and energy. The newcomers appeared capable of pulling off the upset, but Moses and Murray repeatedly used distractions and underhanded tactics to disrupt their opponents.

Those tactics ultimately made the difference. Security Inc. took advantage of the chaos and scored the victory, spoiling the Vetrano Brothers’ first VPW appearance.

VPW New York State Closed Challenge

New York State Champion David Graham def. Tough Love Tommy Heartfelt

The rules were simple: If Tough Love Tommy Heartfelt defeats David Graham, he would earn the New York State Championship. Graham, however, entered the closed challenge determined to prove that nobody was worthy of challenging for his title.

Heartfelt attacked with urgency, looking to end the contest before Graham could settle into his methodical style. The champion eventually slowed the pace and relied on Silk E Smooth, who continued directing traffic and creating distractions from ringside.

The interference became too much for referee Jason Fineburg, who ejected Silk E Smooth from ringside. With his manager gone, Graham was forced to fend for himself.

Heartfelt continued fighting, but Graham found another opening and delivered a critical blow that appeared to end the contest. Heartfelt kicked out at two.

The action continued into the corner, where the referee was nearly caught between the competitors. With Fineburg distracted, Graham delivered a low blow before rolling up Heartfelt and securing the three-count.

Graham retained the championship and escaped his own closed challenge, while Heartfelt was denied the title opportunity he had fought to earn.

Now the attention is focused on VPW’s next event, Haunted Ground.

  • What’s in store for Kalypto – will she get her title opportunity?
  • Who is next for David Graham’s closed challenge for the New York State Championship?
  • Who will step up to Anthony Gangone and the Victory Pro Wrestling Championship?
  • And with a vacancy in the tag team division, what will VPW do to crown new tag team champions?

Portland Braces for Impact as VPW Riverfront Rumble 5 Explodes Into Action https://www.victoryprowrestling.com/portland-braces-for-impact-as-vpw-riverfront-rumble-5-explodes-into-action/ Fri, 28 Aug 2026 13:00:00 +0000 https://www.victoryprowrestling.com/?p=14577 PORTLAND CTVictory Pro Wrestling returns to Concentric Brewing Company tomorrow, Aug. 29, where reputations will be tested, grudges will explode and one move can change everything.

Rex Lawless and Wrecking Ball Legursky are heading toward a collision. Lawless enters as the Gold Rush Rumble winner and former VPW New York State Champion. His recent attack on VPW Champion Anthony Gangone has made him a target. Standing across the ring is Wrecking Ball Legursky, a former NWA United States Tag Team Champion signed to the NWA. When they meet, Portland may not have room for both.

Can Kayla Lopez shock Kalypto at Riverfront Rumble 5? Kalypto believes the VPW landscape has conspired against her, from controversial title opportunities to betrayals by people she once trusted. Now she faces Lopez, the Bombshell Beauty who has built momentum since beginning her training. Kalypto brings championship experience and intensity, but Lopez has an opportunity to create a major upset of her career.

David Graham arrives in Portland with a message: Nobody is good enough. The VPW New York State Champion has heard every challenge and answered with confidence. Riverfront Rumble 5 gives him a chance to prove himself. Graham is not coming to Portland to make friends or share the spotlight. He is coming to establish that his championship represents the standard. Anyone who thinks otherwise is invited to step forward.

Portland is the battleground when the Vetrano Brothers collide with Security Inc. Both teams know pride and control are at stake. Security Inc. will bend the rules and bring the fight into territory. The Vetrano Brothers must survive that chaos and prove they can stand together under pressure.

Black Diamond wants to silence the comparisons in Portland. Every mention brings another comparison, and she has decided the only way to end it is to leave no doubt about who she is. Black Diamond can turn frustration into a statement. One decisive performance could force the wrestling world to stop comparing and start paying attention.

Also in action… Franco Costanzo battles Sgt. Axel Ramos, while ABBS faces Vincent Michaels. Georgio Lawrence, Brooklyn Outlaw and Tommy Heartfelt collide in a three-way battle where alliances can disappear.

With A Fight Against raising money for the American Cancer Society, Riverfront Rumble 5 carries a purpose beyond the competition. On Aug. 29, Portland becomes where rivalries ignite, reputations are challenged and Victory Pro Wrestling delivers a night fans will not want to miss.

PORTLAND IS THE BATTLEGROUND: Vetrano Brothers and Security Inc. Collide at Riverfront Rumble 5 https://www.victoryprowrestling.com/portland-is-the-battleground-vetrano-brothers-and-security-inc-collide-at-riverfront-rumble-5/ Wed, 26 Aug 2026 13:00:00 +0000 https://www.victoryprowrestling.com/?p=14575 PORTLAND CT – The VPW Tag Team Championship picture is about to explode at Riverfront Rumble 5, and two teams are marching into Concentric Brewing Company with something to prove. On Saturday, Aug. 29, the Vetrano Brothers and Security Inc. collide in a battle where pride, power and unfinished business will crash together.

Mook and Stock Vetrano have built their reputation the hard way. Graduates of the Team 3D Academy, the 365-pound duo brings a heavy-hitting style rooted in classic tag team psychology, combining power moves with relentless energy. Multiple-time Battlefield Pro Wrestling Tag Team Champions, the brothers know how to fight from underneath, feed off the crowd and turn desperation into explosive comebacks.

Across the ring stand Officer Ronald Moses and “Guard Dog” Malcom Murray, Security Inc. The self-appointed enforcers of professional wrestling believe the system has failed them. After losing the VPW Tag Team Championships earlier this year, Moses called the defeat a fluke, and when Committed to Excellence was stripped of the titles, Security Inc. expected the championships to be handed back to them.

Instead, they were forced to fight for another opportunity. With Journey Burke, Esq. now in their corner, Security Inc. is looking to reclaim what they feel is rightfully theirs.

But first, the Vetrano Brothers stand in their way.

Mook and Stock have never needed shortcuts. Security Inc. has shown they will use whatever advantage they can find. When these four collide, there will be nowhere to hide and no room for excuses.

Who leaves Portland with momentum toward VPW gold? The Vetrano Brothers are ready to fight. Security Inc. is reporting for duty. At Riverfront Rumble 5, somebody’s plans are getting wrecked, and the road to championship gold changes forever.

David Graham Arrives in Portland With a Message: Nobody Is Good Enough https://www.victoryprowrestling.com/david-graham-arrives-in-portland-with-a-message-nobody-is-good-enough/ Mon, 24 Aug 2026 13:00:00 +0000 https://www.victoryprowrestling.com/?p=14566 PORTLAND CTThe Veteran David Graham is coming to Connecticut, and he is bringing the New York State Championship with him. Saturday, Aug. 29, Graham makes his first appearance in Connecticut since capturing the title, but fans expecting a championship defense at VPW Riverfront Rumble 5 are going to hear something very different.

Graham has made his decision clear. The New York State Championship will NOT be on the line in Portland. The Veteran will not defend the championship, but that does not mean he is stepping away from competition. Instead, Graham says he is still looking for a challenge, and that challenge better be worthy of his attention.

That statement has already sent a message throughout the VPW locker room. Graham believes his experience, toughness and championship pedigree put him in a class of his own. Now, every wrestler on the roster has the question: Who is willing to step forward and prove the Veteran wrong?

Standing beside Graham is his manager, Silk E Smooth, and Smooth has no intention of hiding his opinion. He says nobody is good enough to take on the Veteran. Those are fighting words in wrestling, especially when the champion himself is inviting someone to try.

Whomever steps up to the challenge, if they win, will get a future opportunity at the New York State Championship, a title that has held prestige since it’s inception in 2009. Notable champions include Kevin Fulton, Eric James, Kai Katana, and Ricky Reyes. Recently, Rex Lawless held the championship for almost a year, successfully defending the title against all comers.

On Aug. 29, the challenge is out there. Graham may not be defending the New York State Championship, but he is putting his reputation on the line every time he steps through those ropes. If someone believes they have what it takes, Portland may be the place to find out.

VPW Riverfront Rumble 5 comes to Concentric Brewing Company on Saturday, Aug. 29, with “A Fight Against” raising money for the American Cancer Society. The stakes are bigger than one championship. The Veteran wants a challenge, and someone has the chance to make history by accepting it.
