When Alvin Alvarez returns to the VPW ring at Haunted Ground, it’s more than a match – it’s a reckoning. A former VPW Tag Team Champion and one-time challenger for the New York State Championship, Alvarez earned the right to challenge for any VPW-sanctioned title by winning the 2025 Gold Rush Rumble. But his focus isn’t on a championship – at least not yet. Two years ago, a spinebuster gone wrong at the Gold Rush Rumble left him sidelined with a serious injury, and he has never forgiven JJ Doze, the fan favorite he holds responsible.
Alvarez has always been a force in VPW – powerful, relentless, and cunning. Now, after a year spent plotting his comeback, he’s ready to make Doze pay, starting at VPW’s most recent event in Connecticut. Fans will be on edge to see if Alvarez will announce a title challenge like past Rumble winners – or if he will follow in the footsteps of Dante Drago, using his Gold Rush Rumble victory as a springboard to immediate chaos.
The Lost Child JJ Doze has been chasing validation as long as Alvarez has been nursing old wounds. A high-flying athlete and two-time finalist in the Gold Rush Rumble, Doze has consistently believed victory was his, only to be eliminated at the final moments. Twice, he has come within seconds of glory – twice, disappointment followed. Now, Doze faces the very man who nearly ended his career in Connecticut in August.
The stakes couldn’t be higher. Alvarez wants retribution, and Doze wants redemption. Haunted Ground will test not only skill and athleticism but also resilience and nerve. Will Alvarez get his revenge, or will the Lost Child rise, defy the past, and prove that even legends can be stopped?
