BAY SHORE NY – A stunning twist in the Victory Pro Wrestling women’s division has reshaped the championship picture heading into Rising Stars on Saturday, June 20, in Deer Park.
Amity LaVey made a shocking return to VPW and wasted no time inserting herself directly into the title scene. In a dramatic triple threat match against Kalypto and Unwilting Tatiana, LaVey walked away with the victory and the position of No. 1 contender for the VPW Women’s Championship.
The development comes as a frustrating setback for Kalypto, who has been battling to regain her footing in the title picture. It is also a bitter blow for Unwilting Tatiana, who had already earned the opportunity to challenge for the championship before being forced to defend her top contender status.
LaVey changed everything when she added herself to the contest, turning the bout into a triple threat and creating the perfect opening to steal the win.
Following the match, LaVey did not waste time making her intentions clear.
She called out reigning VPW Women’s Champion Tiphani Grady in front of the crowd, but instead of waiting for a later event, LaVey demanded the championship match immediately.
The challenge was set for Rising Stars, the one-year anniversary celebration of the event series, where LaVey will face Grady for the VPW Women’s Championship.
The championship has traveled across promotions, with the championship defended by several competitors in recent months. Gabby Ortiz carried the title into battle at Belle 2 Bell, The Unforgiven Salem defended it at Pro Wrestling Magic, and Grady most recently defended the championship at Off the Rails in a hard fought contest against Vita VonStarr.
Now the championship hits the road again with LaVey waiting for her opportunity to claim the gold.
Rising Stars promises a showdown that could redefine the entire Victory Pro Wrestling Women’s division.
