For more than a year, Adam Cain and Anthony Gangone stood together as one of the most dominant duos in Victory Pro Wrestling. Competing under the Cain Industries banner, the team held the VPW Tag Team Championships for 364 days. Cain positioned himself as CEO, while Silk E Smooth served as the managing director. Their formula worked. Their chemistry was undeniable. Their influence was growing. And then everything fell apart.
The first crack in the foundation came when Cain Industries lost the tag team titles. What followed was tension, finger pointing, and a growing divide between Cain and Gangone. Zakk Ramses, the newest member of Cain Industries, was caught in the crossfire. Ramses soon found himself overlooked, underappreciated, and ultimately sacrificed when he lost his hair in a hair versus title match. The once mighty Cain Industries was unraveling in real time.
Attempts to salvage the partnership only made things worse. A title rematch opportunity at the Gold Rush Rumble ended in disaster when Cain chose to do things his own way, costing the team their chance. Gangone blamed Cain. Cain blamed Gangone. Silk E Smooth was trapped in the middle trying to hold the alliance together. But even he could not stop what was coming.
At VPW Thanks for Nothing, the conflict reached a new boiling point when Silk served as special referee. Mind games, misdirection, and split loyalties fueled the match. Cain walked into the bout convinced Silk had chosen sides. Gangone knew exactly how to weaponize that insecurity. A missed call and a steel chain sealed Cain’s fate. Cain’s frustration has now turned into an obsession.
On Saturday, December 13 at Pro Game Sports in Bay Shore, Adam Cain and Anthony Gangone will settle everything in one of wrestling’s most violent stipulations: the dog collar match.
A dog collar match connects both competitors at the neck with a steel chain. The match has no disqualifications. The chain can be used as a weapon. Victory comes only by pinfall or submission. Rivalries rarely survive it. Wrestlers rarely forget it.
