BAY SHORE, N.Y. — Victory Pro Wrestling’s 20-year anniversary event is set to feature one of the most volatile championship matches in company history as brand new VPW Champion ECW King Alvin defends his title against Dr. Sleep Anthony Gangone in a No Disqualification match on Saturday, April 18.
Alvin’s rise to the top has been defined by chaos, but his recent actions may have pushed him too far. Since returning from injury, Alvin has made enemies across the roster, none more dangerous than Gangone.
The tension between the two escalated at King of New York. With Gangone on the verge of securing a title opportunity at Before the Storm, Alvin inserted himself into the moment, hitting him with a chair that cost Gangone his chance. The interference sent a clear message that Alvin had no intention of facing Dr. Sleep.
Gangone responded the only way he knows how.
At Before the Storm, after Alvin endured a grueling championship match against Samwell Thompson, Gangone struck. The attack was swift, direct and fueled by weeks of frustration. For Gangone, it was not just retaliation. It was a declaration that he would not be denied his opportunity any longer.
The situation quickly spiraled beyond control, forcing VPW owner John E Radio to step in. With tensions boiling over and no resolution in sight, the decision was made official. At VPW TWENTY: Blood, Sweat and 20 Years, Alvin will defend the Victory Pro Wrestling Championship against Gangone in a No Disqualification match.
There will be no count outs. No restrictions. No safety net.
For Alvin, it is a chance to prove that his brand new reign can survive even the most dangerous circumstances. For Gangone, it is the opportunity he believes was stolen from him, now returned under conditions that favor his ruthless style.
Twenty years of Victory Pro Wrestling have led to this moment. On April 18 in Bay Shore, the championship will be decided without rules, and without mercy.
What will happen when VPW presents VPW TWENTY on Saturday night, April 18?
