RIVERHEAD NY – Victory Pro Wrestling brings one of the most anticipated championship matches in company history to Box Pickleball on Saturday, Aug. 1, as VPW Outside the Box is headlined by a steel cage match between VPW Champion Anthony Gangone and Alvin Alvarez.
For months, Gangone and Alvarez have turned every encounter into absolute chaos. Their battles have spilled beyond the ring, into the crowd and throughout the arena, leaving officials unable to restore order. After repeated confrontations and growing concern for fans and wrestlers alike, VPW owner John E Radioo made the decision that there was only one way to settle the rivalry.
The steel cage will keep both competitors locked inside until one man proves he is the better wrestler.
The stakes could not be higher. If Alvarez fails to defeat Gangone, he will be barred from entering the Gold Rush Rumble and will no longer be eligible to challenge for the VPW Championship for as long as Gangone remains champion. It is Alvarez’s final opportunity.
“Both Alvin Alvarez and Anthony Gangone have shown a complete disdain to each other and this chaos needs to be controlled,” Radioo said. “We need to create opportunities for the future stars of VPW, but Alvin continues to find ways to include himself, stealing those opportunities for himself.”
Alvarez remains defiant.
“I want what is mine, and I will do anything to get it,” Alvarez said.
On Aug. 1, the cage door will close. One rivalry ends. One champion survives. One dream comes to an end.
