BAY SHORE, N.Y. – Victory Pro Wrestling’s summer spectacle, the Gold Rush Rumble, is back this Saturday, bringing high-stakes battles, championship showdowns, and one of the most unpredictable matches of the year. Every bout on the card carries weight, and the road to gold begins here.

First or Last: David Graham vs. JJ Doze

The night begins with a unique twist: “The Veteran” David Graham faces “The Lost Child” JJ Doze in a match where the winner will enter the Gold Rush Rumble at the coveted No. 20 spot, while the loser will start the match at No. 1.

This is more than bragging rights. With 19 other competitors to survive, every advantage counts. For Graham, his self-professed experience is his greatest weapon, despite making his debut just one year ago. For Doze, chaos is a comfort zone. Expect intensity from the opening bell.

VPW Women’s Championship Triple Threat Elimination Match

When The Unforgiven Salem was forced to surrender the VPW Women’s Championship in June due to injury, it left a vacancy at the top of the division. At the Gold Rush Rumble, that vacancy will be filled in a triple threat elimination match between The Unwilting Tatiana, Temptatious Tiphani Grady, and “The Thorn in Your Side” Kate Thorn.

Tatiana is eager to seize the moment, but a mysterious note she received has cast an air of intrigue over her path to the title.

Grady brings experience and composure to the match, a steady hand under high-pressure situations. Thorn has momentum after her impressive victory over Valerie Verman at Summer Showdown. Only one can walk away with the championship – and no one will go down without a fight.

VPW New York State Championship Open Challenge

After successfully defending his title in a brutal Hair vs. Championship match against The Miasma Zakk Ramses, Rex Lawless is ready for more. This time, the New York State Champion is issuing an open challenge to anyone – inside or outside VPW – who dares to step up.

“Now, I’m going to restore honor to this championship,” Lawless said. “I’m going to take on anybody. Anybody that wants to challenge me for this, take it from me. I dare you.”

With no idea who will answer the call, the question isn’t just whether Lawless can retain, it’s whether he’s ready for the unexpected.

VPW Tag Team Championships: The Even Stevens vs. Security Inc vs. Cain Industries

The Tag Team division has been a battlefield in recent months. After Security Inc earned their title shot, they attacked The Even Stevens at Summer Showdown. Moments later, Cain Industries struck the champions as well. Commissioner Kevin Fulton was ready to deny Cain Industries any opportunity, but Steve Somerset requested the match to settle unfinished business.

Security Inc has been furious ever since, feeling management has once again held them back.

Now, in a triple threat match, the champions must survive not one, but two teams determined to take their gold and each other out.

The 2025 Gold Rush Rumble

The signature match of the night – 20 competitors, over the top rope, last person standing earns the golden opportunity to challenge for any championship in Victory Pro Wrestling. Past winners like Ricky Reyes, VSK, Mister Tibbs, and Eric James have used their victory to capture the New York State Championship, the VPW Tag Team Championships, and even the Victory Pro Wrestling Championship.

This year’s lineup includes fresh faces like Kalypto, Jay Vara, Vic Vendetta, Boom Harden, and the highly anticipated debut of Mantequilla. Returning stars include Evil Kip, Samwell Thompson, “La Chica” Clara Carreras, and the menacing Adam Kirkland, who has been attacking stars across VPW while warning “the Plague is coming.”

The match will also mark the in-ring return of Alvin Alvarez, who last competed in the 2024 Gold Rush Rumble before a knee injury cut his night short. One year later, he’s back and determined to finish what he started.

Could this be the year a competitor like Kalypto or Clara Carreras makes history by winning and challenging for the VPW Women’s Championship? Will a veteran reclaim the spotlight? Or will a fresh new face slingshot their way to their golden opportunity?

In the Gold Rush Rumble, anything can happen.
