BAY SHORE, N.Y. — A new chapter begins Friday, March 13, as Victory Pro Wrestling presents VPW Before the Storm in Bay Shore, where a new VPW Champion will be crowned.
The controversy began when VPW Champion Dezmond Cole was stripped of the title due to injury, leaving the championship vacant and the locker room on edge. Scheduled King of New York challenger Anthony Gangone wasted no time demanding that Commissioner Kevin Fulton award him the gold. Moments later, 2025 Gold Rush Rumble winner ECW King Alvin made the same claim, insisting his victory guaranteed him the throne.
Enter Samwell Thompson.
Standing up for Cole, Thompson declared that the only man who deserved to be called champion was the one who earned it. Then he turned his attention to Fulton and made his intentions clear. He wanted the opportunity to earn respect the right way, inside the ring.
Fulton responded by making a decisive ruling. Gangone would face Thompson that night, with the winner advancing to meet ECW King Alvin at Before the Storm for the vacant VPW Championship.
Thompson rose to the occasion, defeating Gangone to secure his place in the championship match. Now, the self-proclaimed Primadonna Prince stands on the brink of the biggest victory of his career. Across the ring will be Alvin Alvarez, known as ECW King Alvin, a tenacious and calculating competitor who believes destiny is on his side.
Yet questions remain.
Alvin’s involvement in the closing moments of Thompson’s victory over Gangone has not gone unnoticed. Dr. Sleep has made it clear he still considers himself the rightful champion. With tensions rising and unfinished business lingering, the atmosphere in Bay Shore promises to be electric.
On March 13, the storm arrives. Thompson seeks validation. Alvin seeks the crown. And the future of VPW hangs in the balance.
