Victory Pro Wrestling’s Summer Showdown on Saturday, July 12, will host two critical qualifying matches that will determine who moves on to compete for the vacant VPW Women’s Championship at this year’s Gold Rush Rumble on August 9 in Bay Shore.
At Battle in Bay Shore 3, reigning champion The Unforgiven Salem made the difficult decision to vacate the title due to injury. With the championship now up for grabs, The Unwilting Tatiana—a proven competitor and former champion—has already secured her place in the finals with a win over La Chica Clara Carreras at the Battle in Bay Shore 3. Now, two more women will join her after Summer Showdown.
Tiphani Grady vs. Nat Castle
Making her debut at Memorial Mayhem in Yonkers, Tiphani Grady quickly caught the attention of fans and officials alike with her aggressive in-ring presence and confidence. She faces “Latina Spice” Nat Castle, a rising star and fan-favorite, whose heart and determination have already made her a standout in VPW’s women’s division. Castle is hungry for her first major VPW moment, and this could be it—but Tiphani intends to keep her momentum rolling straight into the finals.
Valerie Verman vs. Kate Thorn
Valerie Verman, “The Primadonna Princess,” is no stranger to the spotlight and is considered the odds-on favorite to win the entire tournament. But standing in her way is the unpredictable Kate Thorn. With experience in Battlefield Pro Wrestling, WDWA, and Belle 2 Bell, Thorn has the resume—but this is her VPW debut. Will she rise to the occasion and shock the roster with a Cinderella run, or will Valerie’s experience and cunning prove too much?
