BAY SHORE, N.Y. – Tensions continue to rise in Victory Pro Wrestling as Dr. Sleep Anthony Gangone refuses to let his unfinished business with ECW King Alvin fade away.
After coming agonizingly close to capturing the VPW Championship at VPW TWENTY in April, Gangone has officially demanded a rematch against Alvin at Battle in Bay Shore 4 on Saturday, June 13, at Pro Game Sports in Bay Shore.
Gangone’s frustration stems from the controversial ending to their No Disqualification Match. After months of anticipation and finally getting the opportunity to settle the score with Alvin, Gangone appeared to have victory within reach. Instead, the match took a shocking turn when Adam Cain inserted himself into the contest and delivered a low blow to Gangone, changing the outcome and revealing where his loyalties truly stood.
Since that night, Gangone has made it clear that he believes the championship opportunity was stolen from him. The outspoken challenger has repeatedly called for another chance to face Alvin one-on-one and has vowed to make his presence felt at Battle in Bay Shore 4.
While VPW management has remained largely silent regarding Gangone’s demands, officials have confirmed that an opportunity may await him. Management has extended an invitation for Gangone to meet directly with Victory Pro Wrestling owner John E. Radioo during the event.
What that meeting could mean remains unknown. Will Gangone finally receive the championship rematch he has been demanding? Will Alvin have anything to say about it? And what role could Adam Cain play if emotions once again boil over?
What will happen when Victory Pro Wrestling returns to Bay Shore for Battle in Bay Shore 4?
Two major matches have already been signed for the milestone show.
- Committed to Excellence will receive another opportunity to challenge Security Inc for the VPW Tag Team Championships. After the controversial ending to their last encounter, management has added a major stipulation. If the match ends in a disqualification, the championships can change hands.
- Another rivalry set to continue involves former partners turned bitter enemies. Azure and Steve Somerset erupted into a wild fight at VPW TWENTY that spilled throughout the building and required the locker room to separate them. Now the two will meet in an official match at Battle in Bay Shore 4 as their deeply personal feud continues to escalate.
