BAY SHORE NY – Some rivalries are fought for championships. On Saturday, Aug. 8, at Gold Rush Rumble, this one is personal for Steve Somerset as he steps into the unknown when he enters Azure’s Playhouse at Pro Game Sports in Bay Shore.
Somerset earned a controversial victory over his former partner at Summer Showdown after Azure was disqualified. The decision may have given Somerset the win, but it settled nothing. Instead, it fueled the obsession of a man who has become more dangerous with every passing month.
Since launching a shocking attack on Somerset last December, Azure has unraveled before the eyes of the Victory Pro Wrestling faithful. Once known as a quiet and calculated competitor, Azure now appears completely detached from reality. After suffering defeat at Summer Showdown, he uttered only two chilling words.
“Azure’s Playhouse.”
No explanation followed. No warning was given.
Somerset has made it clear that his mission is to end Azure’s reign of terror once and for all. Yet revenge can cloud judgment, and stepping into an environment designed by an unstable opponent may play directly into Azure’s hands.
