VPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
CHAMPIONS THE EVEN STEVENS (STEPHEN AZURE & STEVE SOMERSET) DEF. CAIN INDUSTRIES (ADAM CAIN & ANTHONY GANGONE) (W/ SILK E. SMOOTH)

  • The Even Stevens put the VPW Tag Team Championships on the line against the former champions, Cain Industries. Adam Cain and Steve Somerset start the match for their respective teams. Cain shoves Somerset from a collar-and-elbow tie-up. Somerset tries again, but this time, Cain backs him up into the corner. Somerset uses his quickness to get Cain reeling, which forces Cain to tag in Anthony Gangone.
  • Gangone is the target of both Stephen Azure and Somerset. Some miscommunications at the beginning of the match cause Gangone to take out Cain with a clothesline. The Even Stevens capitalize on this with a tag team move of their own on the big man. However, a blind tag from Gangone onto Cain causes Somerset to meet a slingshot shoulder block. Cain Industries is now in firm control of the match.
  • Cain goes to work on the wounded Somerset. However, Somerset was able to fight back into the match by countering Cain’s big move and making the hot tag to Azure. Azure comes in like a building on fire, taking out both members of Cain Industries. Azure lands a big spinebuster onto Cain for just a two-count when Gangone breaks it up. Silk E. Smooth gets involved, which leads to Azure eating a splash in the corner from Cain. Gangone hits a big tornado DDT on Azure for just a two-count.
  • While Smooth has the referee’s back turned, Gangone holds Azure up for Cain, who tries to use the belt. Azure gets out of the way, and Cain and Gangone are not on the same page. This leads to Azure throwing Cain to the outside before the Stevens hit their finisher on Gangone and pinned him to win the match.
  • After the match, Cain and Gangone have to be separated, with Gangone yelling at Smooth to fix this.

  • Tomlinson rakes the eyes of Lawless and sends him into the ring post shoulder-first to gain control of the match. Tomlinson targets the much bigger opponent and keeps him on the ground. Lawless fights back into the match and takes down Tomlinson with a big move for just a two-count.
  • As Lawless looks like he has the match won, Zakk Ramses and Silk E. Smooth make their way down to the ringside area to distract the referee and stop him from counting.
