DEER PARK, NY – The very first King of New York tournament turned out to be a defining night in Victory Pro Wrestling history. What began as an ambitious single-night tournament quickly became a proving ground for grit, strategy, and survival.

Round 1 opened with six singles matches, and an international clash as the German Hammer Josef Von Schmidt defeated the American Marvel James Pash, establishing himself early as a dominant force. K-Funk followed with a resilient victory over Jay Delta, overcoming a targeted attack on his injured leg to advance.

Jason Static, accompanied by members of Team Jarrett, defeated Mike Magnum after outside interference played a decisive role. E.J. Risk moved on after Ultra Sexy Joe So Delicious was distracted by a large ringside presence, leading to a count-out loss. Xander Page made quick work of El Destructico in his VPW debut, while Zombie continued his dominance with another win over Razzle Dazzle.

Outside the tournament, Cuban Crippler Ricky Reyes successfully defended the VPW New York State Championship against longtime rival K-Fresh, retaining the title in a hard-fought contest.

Round 2 raised the stakes. In the second round, there were two triple threat matches. E.J. Risk advanced by defeating both Josef Von Schmidt and Zombie, capitalizing at the right moment to steal the victory. K-Funk earned his place in the finals by defeating Jason Static, though the cost was evident as Static and Xander Page left Funk visibly damaged. Team Jarrett members were removed from ringside during the bout.

Chaos followed when Los Ben Dejos and a returning Javi-Air defeated Team Jarrett in an impromptu six-man tag team match. Later, VPW Champion VSK defeated Mack Daddy Flexx by disqualification after Flexx intentionally used underhanded tactics to retain his championship.

The finals saw E.J. Risk take advantage of K-Funk’s injured leg to secure the victory and become the first King of New York. Following the match, Jerry Fitzwater entered the ring to present Risk with the crown and trophy. Conflux joined the celebration, though it was short-lived as VSK and the Funky Fresh Boyz cleared the ring, closing a historic night that crowned the first King of New York and set the tone for years to come.
